Can we just? Have a moment here? We’ll get back to all the superstar nominee types in a second (or two), but we figure a little dreamy mid-day break of unfussy, perfectly rendered Audrey drag was just the kind of thing we could all use right now.
Audrey Hepburn will remain an iconic style figure for the foreseeable future, with constant homages and reiterations playing out in fashion magazines and on red carpets year in and year out. If we had to guess, we’d say we’ve covered at least 500 red carpet Audrey wannabe-lewks in the last decade or so. And in all of those attempts, no one ever took it as literal as this look does. Except for the peachy color and lack of a tiara, this practically counts as cosplay. She looks absolutely stunning.
We tend to think opera gloves are far too dated and referential to ever truly come back into high style, but she’s making us wonder.
