The Fashion Awards 2019: Sandra Oh in Erdem

Posted on December 03, 2019

Can we just? Take a minute here? Because we’re feeling a lot of emotions right now. You see, in the early morning non-light, we picked this look for the spotlight because we saw that deep rich purple rendered in sequins and thought, “How perfect for Miss Sandra. Let’s do that one.” Then THIS happened:

REALITY SET IN.

Admittedly, there’s still a lot to love here. The aforementioned purple sequins, first and foremost, but also the shape and style, and even the big neck thingie has a sort of Prince vibe to it that we can’t entirely hate. What we CAN hate and DO hate is the black lace with the “nude” backing. We wouldn’t love the addition of black lace to this design in almost any instance, but if it had been backed with a much darker color – even the purple – we’d probably have way less of an issue with it. Now, all we can see are the “bare” parts first. Tsk. You almost had us on this one, Sandra.
