Personally, we really like it when Miss Kacey dives into the Country Chic pool and swims around in it for awhile. We’ll always stan a country gal who tips her style hat to the Lorettas and Dollys of that world. On the other hand, we know that country music is broader and more modern than our expectations for prairie dresses and fringe, so we can’t blame a young, hot country star for wanting to wear something a little fresher and without the costumey implications.
We’re just not convinced an ombre rainbow suit with satin pleats was quite the way to go. If we’re being honest, we think it’s a kind of fun idea for a red carpet and the effect is very photogenic. Personally, we think the suit would be just fine and possibly even eye-catching and stylish without the awful pleats. Sure, the color’s are kind of juvenile or twee and the ombre effect is unsubtle, but red carpets are places where tweeness and a lack of subtlety are benefits to the wearer. We’re kind of okay with this, even with the pleats. We just can’t understand why she unbuttoned her jacket right there in front of photographers. We love you Kacey, but that smacks of thirst.
