Happy Monday, darlings. The week ahead will be full of challenges, stresses, and annoyances, so let’s kick things off with a pretty lady in a pretty dress. Well. Semi-pretty, anyway. The dress, we mean. The lady’s beaut–
We’ll start again.
Darlings, here’s Miss Constance Wu, looking pretty in a drag queen gown:
It’s only an okay look, to be honest. But we’ve got some real humdingers in the pipeline for today, so we figured “only okay” would help you to ease into things a little. Now, these two queens love themselves a good stretch of feather trim, but we kind of hate the way they’re applied here. No art or interest to how it’s done. But if you take them away, the dress would be fairly generic without them. And since we’re getting nitpicky as hell, we may as well note that the bottom trim looks like Christmas tinsel and we don’t love the giant “pearls” on the clutch. The funny thing is, if she’d really leaned into the drag and had her hair and face done up to meet the level of the dress, this might have worked better.
And yes, we used “humdinger” in a sentence. No, we’re not in our nineties, but it sounded nicer than “fucked-up lewks.”
