We were going to do the bitchy-blogger thing here, mainly because Miss Rita has given us so many reasons to be so in the past, but the more we look at this, the more we find it a little drag-fabulous. More important: it doesn’t smack of “wannabe.” There’s no Bey or Ri or Kim in the mix, as is so often the case with her style choices.
Although we suppose you could argue that this looks like old Pink cosplay. Our only issue is that the pink satin looks a bit beat-up and faded. We’re not sure the yellow feathers look as intentional as we assume they are. But the shape of the bodice is dramatic and we can’t argue that she looks generic. It’s got a fantasy feel that really works with her looks. Very sort-of Narnia in tone.
But we know a dress like this is an acquired taste and now we’re curious to see how many of you have made that acquisition. Let’s hear it:
