Well, we hate to say it, but Hamnet star Jessie Buckley nailed her look for the British Vogue Fashion and Film party, dammit. You’d think we’d be happy to see a star with a dicey red carpet history really come into her own right as her career as at its most ascendant, but all we can think is…

…not like this. Which is bad of us! We admit it! But she always had an artsy/punk approach to her style and we respected that, even when they results were somewhat closer to disastrous than this. This is so… restrained. So elegant. So… can we say it? A little boring. She looks amazing, no doubt about it. There’s literally not a thing to nitpick about this look because her team got every detail right. Kudos all around. It is a Vogue party, after all. We hope you snag that trophy, girl. If nothing else, it’ll prove once again our thesis that how you dress during your Oscar campaign matters. It’s just that this is a little more sedate than we would have recommended for her. One thing’s for sure: we LOVE that ring.
