This is all so very not cute, Cutes.

We expect vigorous pushback on this point, but a sweater vest under a suit jacket is not some sort of universally appealing look. Not every guy can pull it off and even when a guy can, he can’t make it look fresh or modern. The best you can shoot for is avuncular and classic. We don’t think it does a thing for him here. He’s a big, muscular guy, but the lines and pale color tend to obscure that fact.

As for Miss Emily, in perhaps an apparent bid to stay at her husband’s pace, she chose a similarly un-fresh and totally musty style. Except in her case, she’s sporting what we would consider a fairly ugly dress with almost no redeeming qualities. Are we being harsh here? Or rather, is our evident harshness warranted? Because every single thing about this frock – color, textile, shape, hem length, sleeve design, neckline, bust and waist – looks awful to our eyes.

This is all honestly quite puzzling. She’s always been extremely stylish and he never had a problem hotting himself up appropriately for the red carpet. We suspect these are body doubles or something. Either that or they hit their heads recently and lost all their taste.
