And the pieces really flatter her. In real world (i.e., not the First Lady of the United States) style, we’d recommend breaking the print up, as in the runway looks, which look much more sophisticated to our eyes. But we can’t say enough how well this works for her, in this setting. It’s photogenic as hell and like so many of her best looks, it puts a definite Shelley O spin on the traditional First Lady look. Perfectly casual chic in a perfectly modern kind of way.
If you were watching a movie where, say, aliens invaded or global warming suddenly accelerated to disastrous proportions, and the story cut to the White House, where the First Family looked as photogenic and glamorous as this one does, you’d roll your eyes and laugh at how unrealistic the casting was. In other words, they look like something Hollywood dreamed up.
