Evangeline Lilly in Reem Acra at “The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies” World Premiere

We’ll try our best not to overpraise this but we’re telling you now, she’s so far ahead of her last appearance on these pages that we’re breathing melodramatic sighs of relief and trying to come up with as many synonyms for “fabulous” as we can.

But she did kind of nail it, no?

We mean, it’s not perfect by any means (the details of which we will, of course, be getting to in a moment), but it’s got the wow factor thing going on. It’s definitely movie-star appropriate. And it’s a great silhouette for her naturally athletic frame. Strapless does fabulous things for her shoulders.

HOWEVUH.

The bodice is a little tight and it’s cutting into her. The skirt is maybe a tiny bit too bell-shaped. Her makeup looks like it was applied three days ago – with a rag. The hair looks greasy. And finally – and we absolutely never say this sort of thing – she needed a light coating of tanner to even out her décolletage.

And that’s us struggling not to overpraise her.
