Anne Hathaway, on an apparent break from the relentless promo tour for The Devil Wears Prada 2, joined her Mother Mary co-star FKA Twigs for the New York screening. We don’t imagine they spent a lot of time coordinating their styles ahead of time, but they both landed on a kind of Gaga-esque “high fashion pop star” style that seems to hew pretty closely to the film’s themes and aesthetic.

It’s floaty, ethereal fantasy fashion that doesn’t exactly come alive on a dingy New York sidewalk. She might have wanted to save this one for an LA or London premiere. Still, she looks great. Love those champagne pink metallic pumps.
FKA twigs in Ashi Studio Couture
Lady, you had us until we got to the footwear. We’re very tired of corset tops and tricky sheer skirts, but this combination actually works and suits her well. We can understand wanting to put a couple of really kickass shoes under a dress like this, but the proportions are wildly off and the fact that they’re black when the rest of the outfit is pale just makes your eyes go straight to her massive feet.
