PinMimosa Bar and Restaurant – Paris, France

It’s MONDAY and there’s a snowpocalypse happening in the hills and dales outside of T Lo Manor, which is why we’re feeling the need for a sunny, cozy space in which to grow and carefully cultivate our delusions. Join us, won’t you? We have much to discuss, none of it important.

Read the full list of BAFTA 2026 winners here
Hamnet, One Battle After Another and Sinners lead the nominations.

To quote Moira Rose from Schitt’s Creek, my favourite season is awards. And awards season is well and truly underway, with the 2026 BAFTAs kicking off tonight. The ceremony kicked off at 5 pm today and will be broadcast on BBC One at 7 pm tonight. We’ll be updating the winners list as we go, so if you don’t want any spoilers, now’s the time to tap out.
This year’s biggest heavy-hitters, Paul Thomas Anderson’s thriller One Battle After Another and Ryan Coogler’s genre-busting vampire epic Sinners, both lead the way with 14 nominations apiece. Shortly on their tails are Chloe Zhao’s poetic, moving Hamnet and Josh Safdie’s all-American, mile-a-minute ping pong prodigy epic Marty Supreme. Following the trend set by the Oscars, Golden Globes and Critics’ Choice awards, Sentimental Value is the fifth film up for Best Picture.

How the Tourette’s Fallout Unfolded at the BAFTA Film Awards: From Pre-Show Warnings to a “Throw-Away Apology”
The BBC has released a statement on the clumsily-handled incident, telling The Hollywood Reporter they apologize that the racial slur, shouted as Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo presented an award, was “not edited out prior to broadcast.”

The BBC has apologized for “strong and offensive language” at the 2026 BAFTA Film Awards after a racial slur was not cut from its final broadcast.
A Tourette’s campaigner, John Davidson, was heard cursing throughout the show — including shouting the N-word as Sinners duo Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo presented the best visual effects award to Avatar: Fire and Ash, which prompted gasps across the audience and made for a definitively uncomfortable atmosphere inside London’s Royal Festival Hall.

41 best BAFTAs 2026 hair and makeup looks we can’t get enough of
Soft, blurred beauty and shades of blue won the night.

Happy BAFTAs 2026 to all who celebrate! Whether you were there bumping shoulders with the film and TV elite or (like this writer), watching the awards from the comfort of your sofa, this was the next stop on the ongoing awards season marathon.
Sure, the BAFTAs 2026 winners are important – huge congrats to all of them – but we know you’re even more keen to see who shuffled down the red carpet in their finest glam. While recent red carpets have been all about quiet, sophisticated beauty, it looks like the BAFTAs 2026 might have signalled a (soft) step back towards bold looks – we did tell you after all, that maximalist beauty was coming back in a big way in 2026.

Ready to Progress Your At-Home Workouts? These 7 Expert-Approved Pilates Blocks Could Be the Key
They’re surprisingly affordable, too.

If I know one thing to be true, it’s that there are infinite ways to make your Pilates workout go the extra mile – whether that be from the comfort of your home or in a studio. The latest piece of equipment experts swear by? Pilates blocks.
Small but mighty, I can guess that you’ve probably encountered them before. I’ve used them for mat classes, in the gym, and in hybrid studio classes like The Method. But it’s not just about having a block in your possession; it’s about knowing exactly how to use it to your advantage. So before investing, you’ll want to understand their purpose and whether they will work for you.

Striped nail designs are the cool-girl alternative to polka dot nails
Earn your stripes.

When it comes to nail designs, there are so many (some might argue too many) options to choose from. Leopard, tortoiseshell, stars, but what about striped nail designs?
While other prints are all great choices for your spring manicure, we’re earmarking striped nails as the print that everyone will be wild about this year – a bit like how polka dots totally took over both fashion and beauty last year.
Why stripes? What’s not to love? A super versatile style, you can make them as minimalist or maximalist as you like, and with a few small tweaks to the colours, they can be worn all year long.

A step-by-step guide to transitional layering – without looking like Joey from Friends
Inspired by our favourite fashion girlies, these layering tips will help you get the ultimate street style look.

Yep, we’re back here again. The transitional period between winter and spring tests our patience when it comes to style. Constantly too warm or too cold? Well, it’s time to indulge in the art of layering. But how do you pull it off like a street style girlie rather than Joey from that one episode of Friends where he piles on Chandler’s whole wardrobe? Well, we’ve got you covered.
As stylist and writer, Michelle Li writes in her Substack: “Unfortunately, some of the most effortless looks are the most effortful.” She’s referring to the importance of trial and error when layering – figuring out which pieces work with others and in what order you should put them on. With the right combination of colour (contrasting or tonal) and fabric (transparent or opaque), even the simplest wardrobe staples can create a statement look. As evident in Michelle’s artful approach to layering T-shirts, the visual impact is undeniable.

11 best hair growth vitamins for healthier, longer hair
Because hair needs a balanced diet too.

More than 11,000 people search for the best hair growth vitamins every month – which makes total sense. The one thing I get asked the most is what my haircare routine looks like and how I managed to grow my hair so long. The truth is, I can’t credit a single thing: I started growing mine out for my wedding last year and I’ve tried plenty since – from targeted hair growth serums to scalp serums, weekly hair masks, and even a red light therapy hair growth device. But if there’s one consistent step I’ve kept in place throughout, it’s hair growth vitamins – because I’ve learned that real results start with feeding your hair from within.

The empowering message behind Alan Cumming’s hair at the BAFTAs 2026
Trans rights forever!

Alan Cumming, the icon that you are!
As the host of BAFTAs 2026, all eyes were on Alan to preside over the night’s event. Never one to do things by halves – fans of Traitors US will be very familiar with the actor’s penchant for extravagant fashion and glam – I’ve become immediately obsessed with his pared-back beauty look, far from the typical OTT glam that usually turns this beauty editor’s head.
Making a quietly powerful statement, the host paired his ombré fringe red carpet look with cute kiss curls in pink, white and blue – the colours of the trans Pride flag. Created by hairstylist Sven Bayerbach, it’s an important message of solidarity with the trans community both globally and specifically in the UK – as outlined by the incredible Dolls from 2025’s Woman of the Year.

Alan Cumming called for ‘understanding’ after Tourettes campaigner John Davidson shouted a racial slur during the 2026 BAFTAs
The incident happened while Michael B Jordan and Delroy Lindo were presenting an award.

The 2026 Bafta Film Awards are complete, but not without some controversy. During the ceremony, host Alan Cumming thanked the audience for their understanding after campaigner John Davidson, who has Tourette syndrome [TS], appeared to shout strong language, including a racial slur, during the show.
John Davidson is the inspiration behind I Swear, a drama based on his experience with TS, a condition that causes a person to make sudden, repetitive sounds or movements, known as ‘tics’, without their control. It follows Davidson, played by Robert Aramayo (Behind Her Eyes, Rings of Power), as he navigates growing up with misunderstood tics in the Scottish Borders before becoming an award-winning activist – even earning an MBE in 2019 for his advocacy around TS.

I’m child-free by choice, and I’ve never once regretted it
No, I’m not going to ‘change my mind’.

According to Jason Bateman, I should want children. But because I’m child-free, it means I haven’t met the right man yet. Never mind the fact that I’m married to the man of my dreams and that I’ve thanked my lucky stars every day of the eight years I’ve been with him.
Just like Bateman’s recent SmartLess podcast guest, Charli XCX, I have chosen not to have children. His invasive questioning of Charli’s same decision, and his suggestion that the happily married singer will change her mind when she meets the right man, isn’t just some harmless off-the-cuff questioning — it’s indicative of a much wider heteronormative, women’s rights issue.

An ode to Jessie Buckley, the star of Hamnet
A well-deserved win at the BAFTAs.

Ok, I’ll say it: awards season is proving to be a bit of a slog. A sea of tight, poreless faces and laborious, trudging jokes that could not have been more effortfully delivered, it is sometimes hard to remember that we were supposedly celebrating film and the artists who make it. That is, until Jessie Buckley takes the stage to collect all of her well-deserved awards for her astounding performance in Chloe Zhao’s Hamnet.
A breath of fresh Irish air, Buckley is all warmth and vivacity. Collecting her Best Actress Award at the Golden Globes on 11 January, the actress kept it refreshingly real: “Whoa! This is not a normal feeling or situation to be in, but thank you, Golden Globes,” she said as she mounted the stage, before fondly recalling raving in the Globe Theatre with the 400 extras in the film. As you do.

Who is Wunmi Mosaku? Meet the BAFTA-winning actor
Her speech was 10/10.

Wunmi Mosaku is having quite the moment. Starring in Sinners, Black Panther director Ryan Coogler’s vampire-slash-gangster movie alongside Michael B. Jordan and Jack O’Connell, she has solidified herself as a star.
And now she’s a BAFTA-winning actor for her role in Sinners.
Sinners tells the story of two twin brothers who return to their hometown to try and leave their troubled pasts behind, only to discover a greater evil there. In the supernatural horror, Wunmi will play Annie, a Hoodoo practitioner connected to the spirit world. Ryan Coogler wrote the role of Hoodoo priestess Annie in Sinners especially for Mosaku.
Here’s everything you need to know about the BAFTA-winning actor and her incredible acceptance speech.

Gus Kenworthy on Coming Out, Criticism and Yes, Heated Rivalry
Kenworthy first shot to fame in 2014 when he won America a shiny silver medal in Men’s Slopestyle for the Sochi Games. These days, the Olympian is competing for Great Britain (to honor his English-born mother.) He actually “retired” from the sport in 2022, but it was only last May when he decided at the last minute to join, and later qualify, for the British team. But his competition isn’t for a couple of days. In the meantime, he’s buying swag along with the rest of us.I jokingly ask if he can find the size of my jersey, which elicits an earnest response as he’s almost about to help me. “I’m kidding,” I interrupt.

The BAFTA-Winning Star Of ‘I Swear’, Robert Aramayo, Is A Scorpio In Denial
The 33-year-old actor is preparing to make his stage debut

It’s already shaping up to be a good year for Robert Aramayo. Until recently, the 33-year-old actor was best known for his roles in Rings of Power and Game of Thrones. Now, he’s making waves following his BIFA award-winning and EE Rising Star and Best Actor BAFTA-winning depiction of the Scottish Tourette syndrome campaigner, John Davidson, in I Swear. ‘I’ve grown really close to John, so I felt a massive pressure to get it right,’ says Aramayo. ‘I felt incredibly supported by the crew and everyone involved who had lived with Tourette’s and been so forthcoming with their stories.’

The 10 Best Nail Looks of the Week Prove Florals for Spring Can Actually Be Groundbreaking
Sorry, Miranda Priestly.

I once had a boyfriend tell me that it was a waste of money to buy flowers. Thankfully, that relationship died, and my unwavering love for peonies and roses remained. And the best nail looks of the week were the exact reminder I needed that flowers have the power to make my heart feel so full.
Floral prints for spring are hardly revolutionary, but there’s something about this season that feels different. The best manis I saved incorporated the Lunar New Year energy for luck and change with floral blooms. There are also cool stained glass effects, velvet finishes, and 3D decals that are literal works of art. These looks are anything but basic.

Dearest gentle readers, as you’re waiting for updates on the star-crossed love affair between Benedict Bridgerton and his Lady in Silver—oh wait, wrong romance novel-verse. I’m actually here to inform you that Bridgerton alum Phoebe Dynevor has joined another project worth gossiping about: The film adaptation of Emily Henry’s best-selling book, Beach Read.
Published in 2020, Beach Read is the first best-selling adult romance novel by rom-com titan Emily Henry. The book spans a sun-soaked summer as a jaded romance writer and her college literary rival agree to swap genres in hopes breaking through similar bouts of writer’s block.

How to Style Dark Blue Jeans for Spring, According to the Fashion Pros
Yes, it’s possible to make even the darkest blues feel light and airy.

A trusty pair of dark-wash jeans is a wardrobe essential—a lesson I unfortunately learned the hard way when I was left with a profound gap in my closet after I outgrew my favorite pair. Once I remedied that and figured out how to style dark blue jeans to fit my personal style, they became some of my most-worn pants.
They work for a myriad of occasions—from the office to a casual dinner with friends. And they’re surprisingly clutch during spring’s temperamental weather; the denim is thick enough that I’m not freezing if it’s cold, but breathable enough that I don’t feel stifled if it ends up being warmer than expected.

The Best Thickener for Every Kind of Soup, According to Chefs
Velvety soup doesn’t require a drop of cream.

There’s nothing like a bowl of soup to warm you up from the inside out. And a silky, spoon-coating texture — rather than a thin, watery consistency — matters just as much as flavor.
“The perfect thickness where a soup coats the mouth can really make or break the overall experience,” says Ian Rough, executive corporate chef at Cameron Mitchell Restaurants.
Beyond traditional dairy-based thickeners like cream, there are a number of ways to add body and viscosity to soups, from cornstarch and roux to starchy vegetables and more. To help you narrow down your options, we asked chefs for their go-to thickening agents and when to use each one. Read on for the best thickeners, whether you’re making gumbo, seafood bisque, or hot and sour soup.

The Best Cheese for Fondue, According to Chefs and Cheesemongers
A classic Swiss pair remains the standard-bearer.

Fondue is one of those dishes I thought I’d already figured out. As someone who writes about cheese for a living, I’ve eaten plenty of fondue over the years — pleasant, cozy, sometimes forgettable. Good enough, rarely revelatory.
Then last year, I found myself in the village of Gruyères, eating fondue in a wooden chalet perched on a mountain, the sun setting leisurely. The cheese arrived bubbling and fragrant, deeply savory and impossibly smooth — stretchy but never stringy, rich without feeling heavy. One bite and it was instantly clear: Oh, this is what fondue is supposed to be like.
That meal reframed everything I thought I knew about the dish. If fondue can be this transportive — simple, elegant, quietly perfect — what makes the difference? To find out, I asked the chefs and cheesemongers who know it best.

Does Hershey Still Use Real Chocolate in Its Products? Look for This Phrase on the Front of the Package
As Hershey adapts to higher commodity costs, its own disclosures show which items still meet the FDA’s milk chocolate standard — and which don’t.

Brad Reese, the grandson of the man who invented the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, is calling out The Hershey Company for replacing real chocolate with cheaper substitutes in several of its most popular products.
Reese laid out the claims in a February 14 letter to Hershey’s corporate brand manager, saying the company replaced milk chocolate with compound coatings and peanut butter with peanut-butter-style crème across multiple Reese’s items, according to the Associated Press.
Hershey has responded, but only partially. In a statement posted to its corporate site on Feb. 19, the company said the classic Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup hasn’t changed and is still made with milk chocolate and freshly roasted peanut butter. The statement also acknowledged that as the brand has expanded into new shapes, sizes, and seasonal items, the company has made what it called “product recipe adjustments.”

The ‘hectic’ history of the Mountbatten tiara: designed for an ambassador’s wife, loved by a countess and sold by a lady
Edwina, Countess Mountbatten of Burma, who died this week in 1960, was the owner of the Mountbatten tiara, which has not been seen in seven years

‘A tiara with an exciting and hectic history’, is how Chaumet, the creators of this diadem, have described it. And exciting and hectic it was: first commissioned by Baroness Marie Dow in 1928, it was Art Deco in style and was the perfect accessory for her public role as the Belgian Ambassador’s wife. By 1934, she desired a new look, appointing Chaumet to redesign it into a tiara featuring swirling diamond scrolls and trefoil motifs (the outline of three interconnecting circles) rising to a central point. Later, she decided she didn’t want the tiara at all, selling it to Cartier.

BAFTA and BBC Let the N-Word Air on Tape Delay — Michael B. Jordan, Delroy Lindo, the Tourette’s Community and Viewers Deserve an Apology
This cannot be overstated: BAFTA and the BBC failed us all.
During the 79th BAFTA Film Awards, host Alan Cumming paused the ceremony to thank the audience for its “understanding” after a series of audible outbursts from Tourette’s campaigner John Davidson interrupted the show.
One of those outbursts — heard while “Sinners” stars Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo were onstage — included the N-word.

BAFTAs Make the Oscars Race Messy, From Timothée Chalamet’s Shocking Loss to Sean Penn and Wunmi Mosaku Proving Supporting Races Are Anyone’s Game
Fractured, unpredictable and thrilling chaos are defining this awards season after a wild night at the 79th BAFTA Awards, with the race now barreling into the final stretch before Oscar voting opens Thursday, Feb. 26.
Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” was the night’s dominant force, winning six BAFTAs: best film, director, adapted screenplay, supporting actor (Sean Penn), cinematography and editing.
For Oscar watchers, the technical trophies matter as much as the headline prizes. Winning for the artisans brings crucial momentum. “One Battle After Another” leaves BAFTA positioned as a below-the-line viability and still a clear best picture frontrunner. But if anyone hoped for a night of tidy answers, BAFTA offered the opposite with a loud reshuffle that may have clarified one thing and destabilized nearly everything else.

The Secret Agent: A must-see thriller about fighting fascism in Brazil
Kleber Mendonça Filho’s new film follows Armando, a Brazilian academic on the run from two hitmen out for his blood

The Secret Agent is the film of the moment. So much so, when I speak to the Brazilian duo Kleber Mendonça Filho and Wagner Moura in mid-January, the interview ends early because they receive a congratulatory phone call from Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the president of Brazil.
Since its premiere at Cannes, where it won Best Actor and Best Director, The Secret Agent has continued to gain momentum. A few days prior, it won two Golden Globes (Best Foreign Language Film, Best Actor in a Drama). Though none of us aware of it yet, we’re speaking a few days before the film will receive four Oscar nominations: Best Film, Best Director, Best International Feature Film, and Best Actor.

While the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics has showcased some of the greatest athletes in the world and extraordinary displays of sportsmanship, they’ve also been some of the messiest Games in recent memory. Rumors about penis injections were swirling, condoms were running out, and a fugitive hockey fan was arrested after 16 years on the run. We’re talking Bravo levels of drama.
In case you haven’t spent the past two weeks glued to Olympic coverage, here are 10 of the most memorable moments of the 2026 Milan Cortina Games.

2026 BAFTA Awards winners announced: See the full list
Awards season burns bright overseas, as “One Battle After Another” and “Sinners” score some pre-Oscars heat.

One of the final stops for top contenders on the Oscars trail really heated up the race on Sunday.
Alan Cumming hosted the 2026 BAFTA Awards ceremony Feb. 22, with winners announced during a live telecast from the United Kingdom, where the region’s equivalent to the Academy Awards has added fuel to the fire in the ongoing Oscars contest.
Announced five days after the 2026 Oscar nods, the BAFTA nominations anointed presumed Best Picture frontrunner One Battle After Another as the European organization’s leader, with 14 nods overall. The picture won six awards at the event: Best Film, Best Director for Paul Thomas Anderson, Best Supporting Actor for Sean Penn, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Editing, and Best Cinematography.

Daffodil Cake
This cheery dessert is perfect for spring celebrations.

Much like its namesake flower, the daffodil cake is a cheerful sign that warmer days are ahead. It’s a vintage recipe thought to date back to the 1930s and a clever variation on the angel food cakes that were so popular at that time. Here’s how it works: half of the batter is ethereal angel food; the other half is enriched with egg yolks and the zest and juice of an orange and a lemon. After layering both in a tube pan and baking, you pour the tart, citrusy glaze on top to create a dessert that will rouse your taste buds—and brighten any gathering.

How to Clean UGG Boots Without Staining or Damaging Them, According to Experts
The right way to refresh your boots.

UGG boots of all styles are ultra-cozy and a staple piece in many a wardrobe. With all that wear, they could use a thorough clean from time to time. But, unlike your favorite running sneakers, you can’t just throw your UGGs into the washing machine (unless you want to ruin your boots permanently).
“Suede can be difficult to take care of, but if done right, it can allow them to look better, retain their color, and increase their longevity,” says William Wong, garment and shoe care expert. That’s why we consulted with cleaning and shoe experts (plus, a UGG boot representative) to find out their preferred cleaning, deodorizing, and drying methods.
