The Kids Choice Awards were sparsely attended and rather hellaciously tacky this year. Granted, it was never an A-List award show, but we can remember when it attracted actual A-listers — no offense to the folks below. Let’s get even more judgy than we just did!
Auli’i Cravalho in Miu Miu
What’s the deal with that awful tacked-up hem job on the top? Why does it look like a pajama top? Putting those issues aside, it all looks kind of dreary to us. If you’re going to cover yourself in little hearts and wear a crop top, shouldn’t the effect by a little sassier or cuter than this?
Machine Gun Kelly (in Issey Miyake) and Casie Baker (Oscar de la Renta)
Just your typical father-daughter outing: a red carpet and an Oscar de la Renta dress. She looks very cute and those sandals are gorgeous. He’s clearly toned things down for the night.
Ice Spice in Archival Dolce & Gabbana
This is hideous. It’s too small on her and the color washes her out.
Tyla in Roberto Cavalli
We were going to say that the skirt was kind of cute, until we got a closer look and realized that it’s… just a swatch of fabric? Stapled onto a much shorter skirt? It’s too bad, because that print is kind of great and if this hadn’t been such a goofy design, this whole look would have worked.
Victoria Monét in PatBO
Belly button windows will never not be hellaciously tacky and unflattering. The whole look feels like a bit much for the venue, although that could have a lot to do with our longstanding hatred of fringe.
