We have good news, bad news, and news that’s somewhere in the middle of the two. The good news is that Charlize Theron, Kerry Washington and Michelle Yeoh have a new movie together. The… let’s call it neutral news is that we can’t say the trailer (below) impressed us. The bad news?
This is how they dressed for the premiere. We believe a couple of “Oh dear”s escaped our lips involuntarily when we saw these pictures.
Charlize Theron in Christian Dior
This is easily the best of the lot, even if it is a little gimmicky to show up at a premiere like this dressed like a witch. We really like the skirt, boots and tights (even if they are all a little costumey in combination), but that blouse just makes the whole look go flat for us.
Kerry Washington in Ralph Lauren Collection
Oof. No. Absolutely none of this is working for us; not the wig, not the crop top, not the mismatched and barely constructed skirt. It all feels so haphazard and last-second. She keeps trying to do something with her style lately, but it never pulls together for her.
Michelle Yeoh in Gucci
The dress is gorgeous on her, even if we don’t love the shape of the skirt. We’re afraid we don’t like the accessories at all; neither the color or the shape of them.
That looks rather lazily derivative of so many other franchises.
