Recent Academy Award winner Jessica Chastain hung up her Tammy Faye Bakker wig and immediately pivoted toward her Tammy Wynette wig. She’ll be portraying the legendary country singer alongside Michael Shannon as husband George Jones in the upcoming limited series Tammy and George, airing on Paramount +. You can tell she’ll have her sights set on the Emmy if she’s already serving looks on red carpets to promote it before a premiere date has even been announced.

Given her predilection toward lots of glitter and eye makeup when she was promoting The Eyes of Tammy Faye, and going by the above ensemble, we wonder if she won’t also pivot to country-inspired couture for the promotion. Not that we can call this some sort of Grand Ol’ Opry homage; just that the lace and the ruffles and the flared pants all give it a certain feel without being literal about it. Our question to you is a simple, classic one:
