We’ve always been a little harsh in our assessments of Alexandre Vauthier pieces, largely because the ones most favored by the celebrity set seem to be among the tackier choices in his collections. But lately, we keep seeing stars in fabulous and even chic looks with a Vauthier credit to them. Gotta recognize.

While we can’t say the setting truly helps the look (it’s the opposite of sporty), she looks amazing in it. We love the heaviness of the black interacting with floral motifs in springtime pastels. Her hair is as fabulous as always, but we think the volume of the dress is better served by something closer to the runway styling: a tighter ‘do and a pair of boots on the bottom looks a bit more proportionally balanced to our eyes. Even so, she looks fantastic and we’re surprised by how much we like this dress.
