Your duchess headed back to work today.
And because she’s a smart and savvy duchess, she wore the very thing she’s here to promote. The Smart Works collection is minimalist basic workwear but this is a good way of showing how pieces as simple as this can be dressed up a little or given a personal touch. The touches of brown work great. They pop just enough to be photogenic but don’t come off frivolous.
Also: this is kind of a great day style for her and she should consider putting it into rotation when she can get away with it. There are a million ways to dress up a basic blouse and pair of pants. Since she wants to promote a much more workmanlike, down-to-earth sort of image than her sister-in-law (who is, after all, in waiting to become Queen someday and therefore has a completely different set of goals and criteria regarding her public style), this sort of sharp professional approach would be a great choice for Meghan.
