We’re anti-fringe in the general sense, meaning we think most fringed fashion could be improved by the removal of the fringe. But THIS, kittens. This is the WORST way to deploy fringe. It’s fine if you want to trim an edge with a little swing or movement, but we draw the line at body-length fringe:
With a dress like this, the only option you have for picture-taking is shimmying and twirling. When she’s standing still, she looks like she’s trying hard not to move too much. Weirdly, there appears to be some sort of designed garment underneath all that textile hair; something with color-blocking and pleats and a big blue something-or-other trailing down the front. We can’t tell what any of it actually is thanks to the body fringe. For all we know, obscuring half the details is doing the dress a favor.
Tell you what, though: We’ve never had the pleasure of twirling in a fringed dress. No, really. Maybe we shouldn’t get the final word on this one.
