Pamela Anderson came to the Berlin International Film Festival photo call and premiere for her new film Rosebush Pruning and we would like to once again congratulate her on a career turnaround that’s going to go in the books as one of the most legendary in Hollywood history. A legion of exploited or disappointed Hollywood blondes are looking down from heaven and cheering her ascension on. She’s bucking a century of tradition by not allowing herself to be thrown away. In related, but much shallower news, we would also like to congratulate for achieving the perfect high-fashion/low styling balance for herself after years of disappointing us on that front. We’re sure she’s thrilled by the honor.

When her entry onto the A list came with a commitment to scaling back on the ultra glamour and sex appeal that had limited her throughout her life, we completely supported and understood it. But if you want to sport a “clean” face and relatively casual hair in a red carpet setting, while maintaining a high-fashion preference, you’ve got to pick your pieces wisely. A super-glam, sparkly gown isn’t going to look quite right with a no-makeup look because it wasn’t designed with that styling in mind. Going this route — a focus-pulling print and unusual shape, some light sparkle, a little leg and stilettos – works really well with her preferences, especially with the shades and the earrings. Glamour, on her terms.

Pure elegance. We think it would work better with a more controlled or refined hairstyle, but the drama of this dress, as well as the sweep and the color story, do all of the work of keeping all eyes and cameras on her. She looks gorgeous and chic.
