The Hollywood graduating class of 2026 (i.e., the acting Oscar nominees) got together for a little victory lap luncheon. These things are always interesting to unpack, because the nominees are campaigning, but they can’t come off like they’re campaigning too hard around their fellow nominees. Let’s see how everyone threaded that needle, shall we?
Amy Madigan in Thom Browne

This is fun and full of personality. We don’t like the textile at all, but she’s clearly feeling it. The shoes are perfect.
Benicio del Toro

Pallbearer.
Clementine Jane Hawke and Ethan Hawke

Cute. We really don’t like bolo ties at all, but that’s a nice one and he’s well suited to them, which is probably why he tends to wear them so much. We’re not stuffy about jeans-wearing, especially for a day event, but it does seem a little too casual for a nominees luncheon.
EJAE in LeJe

Love the suit, but so many people don’t seem to understand the difference between a jacket with a slouchy fit and a jacket that’s simply too big on the wearer, as this one is. Don’t like the shirt color at all and the belt is oddly sloppy.
Elle Fanning in Givenchy

Chic, stripped-bare, and very professional. Love the brooch.
Emma Stone in Julie de Libran Couture

This strikes us a little… we won’t say overdressed, but a tuxedo-inspired look is an odd one for a luncheon. In related news, we hate that flower.
Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas in Prada

Is that a slug? Is she wearing some sort of slug brooch here? Because if she is, we think we may have finally cracked the code on her clinically depressed style. Maybe she’s just a weirdo at heart who thinks all of this is goofy.
Jacob Elordi in Valentino

Prep school bully. Can’t say it doesn’t suit him, but we think he’s right on the cusp of being too old for the style.
Jessie Buckley in Alaïa

Simple, but well executed. This really isn’t an event for standing out. In fact, you could come off kind of badly if you look like you’re trying to steal the spotlight. The necklace is pretty.
Kate Hudson in Lanvin

Miss Kate is clearly not concerned about charges of attention-seeking. It’s a pretty great dress, but the gloves look wrong with it, as well as wrong for a day event.
Leonardo DiCaprio

Impeccable.
Michael B. Jordan in Balenciaga

Also impeccable. Love the brooch.
Rita Wilson in Prada

Why would you ever think this housedress would photograph well? It looks terrible on her and she needs to stay away from pale beiges.
Rose Byrne in Bottega Veneta

That’s hot and it really works for her, even the goofy shoes.
Stellan Skarsgård

If anyone could make a tuxedo-cardigan work, it would probably be him.
Teyana Taylor in Cong Tri

The lady has no concerns about propriety and she’s not here to eat lunch. She’s here to serve ferociously. Mission accomplished.
Timothée Chalamet in Givenchy

In it to win it. The color looks great on him but we hate the matching watch band.
Wagner Moura in Zegna

A gorgeous coat and color combo.
Wunmi Mosaku in Ri Mi

Okay, this is gorgeous. She finally landed a dress worthy of her. The color looks fantastic and the way the ruching and hardware support and highlight her body is beautiful. LOVE the jewelry.
