The Housemaid star Sydney Sweeney is out and about doing promotional work for American Eagle and she opted for two very different takes on wearing denim for her trip to the New York Stock Exchange.

This would be the expected Sydney Sweeney take on jeans style: tight, boob-focused, and short. The dress is actually very cute, with some interesting design details that set it apart from being a standard denim mini. We love the pleating in the skirt. Boots feel like a decent choice to pair with it, but we’re not crazy about this oversized pair and we think wearing sheer tights with denim is extremely goofy. Also, and above all other considerations, it’s clearly too tight on her in an unflattering way and it’s riding up on her. For her second denim moment, she opted to be way more casual about it:

Honestly? No notes. Works for us. We think she’s much better off not trying so hard. Easy-breezy styles like this will do way more good for her somewhat strained image than all of the sexy-times stuff. Of course the entire problem with her image came down to some very poorly considered ad copy about the very jeans she’s wearing, so maybe she should find another style if she wants to convince people she’s not what they think she is.
