We realize we’re not exactly breaking any news with that sentence, but we have to speak our truth, which is why we literally blurted it out during his emotional acceptance speech. But the bravery and poignancy of that speech aside, we were looking at it in a more shallow way, which is kind of our thing. He’s just so damn pretty. But fine; we’ll try and say something a little deeper. We adore this guy not just because he’s extremely pleasant to look at but because we think he’s leading the way on a cultural shift regarding masculinity. In his hands, it’s expressive, emotional and sensual; it stands for a community and a set of values but it also likes to party and fuck. It’s not afraid to be sweet but it stands on its principles. He’s a good dude, is what we’re saying. As for the tux, as we said in our Cosmo writeup, we gasped when we saw that corseting. It’s the first Haute Couture menswear from the House of Schiaparelli and it looks amazing on him, but we don’t love the shape of that vest.
