Princess Cathy paid a visit to Castle Hill Academy in London to mark Children’s Mental Health Week today. She was in Working Cathy style mode and she’s still clearly feeling very brown at the moment. This is her fourth brown ensemble this year, which makes it an official trend among princesses.

So, the points of discussion here are as follows: She wore a contrasting color. Huge news for people who care about such things. That blue oxford shirt is a pleasant change of pace for her. Second point: Unlike previous attempts to do tone-on-tone with brown, this one works. The two shades look good together. Third point: Penny loafers! Sans royal socks! That’s fresh. And finally, the fact that she’s wearing pieces by Boden indicates to us that she’s subtly expanding both her style palette and her range of choices. There will never be a major shift in her style. We’ve said for years that if we were covering her style as an aged queen, it would probably be pretty much what she’s always worn.
