
This looks deeply stupid.



It says something about the movie when the trailer does everything it can to obscure what the lead character looks like in full costume. There’s a good reason for that: He-Man was always a dumb character with an even dumber look. The idea that it can be scaled up to a 100-million-dollar franchise feature feels like a holdover from the days when every Marvel movie made a billion dollars. The Masters of the Universe was pretty much a Gen X phenomenon and we’re all too old to care about this shit now. If Millennials and Gen Z have some sort of lasting affection for these characters, it’s news to us.
