Rebecca Hall and Jamie Lee Curtis came to the New York screening of Ella McKay in exactly the kind of dark, workmanlike outfits we’ve come to expect from them and for any NY screening. In fact, they outfits are so fuss-free that we don’t even have that much to talk about here, which is, of course, the point to them.

Big splashy premieres are for the glamour. New York screenings are for the critics and the awards-governing bodies. Jamie Lee’s suit is nice, but her people need to tell her that not every outfit takes well to her arms-akimbo, crossed-legs style of posing. We also think the jacket would look better with metal buttons. Rebecca’s wearing a very tone-down version of her usual slightly odd style preferences. Or maybe she just opted to put on her jacket backwards. We don’t mind the look from what we can see of it, but the pants are way too long and the trailing sash looks silly and unnecessary.
