Your Boyfriend Jonathan Bailey kept the look simple for his visit to Late Night. The Wicked: For Good star and newly crowned World’s Sexiest Man wisely (in our opinion) toned things down for the night.

It seemed like the World Sexiest Man thing went briefly to his head (as we presume it must for each newly crowned man) and the looks suddenly got self-consciously “I’m too sexy,” which is not where his style sweet spot lies. He can be as sexy as he wants to be, but he does best in relatively straightforward (you’ll pardon the term) classic menswear with a bit of a romantic flair to it. He doesn’t have to try hard, is what we’re saying. Granted, that doesn’t mean he gets a pass for being boring, but that’s kind of why we love the bright red dress shirt. It’s simple, but it provides exactly the level of impact he needs while appearing effortless. The black dress pants are fine, if a little basic. Our only real complaint is with the footwear. That was the one area where he could have afforded to dandy it up a little. We’d have recommended a monk strap book or something else with a little bit of hardware to draw the eye.
