Jeff Goldblum may be back in theaters as the Wizard in WICKED: FOR GOOD, but the actor, musician, and fashion plate doesn’t make his magic only on screen. Now, for his next trick. “The Great & Powerful Jeff Goldblum” by Justine Harman, is on townandcountrymag.com now and in the December 2025/January 2026 issue of TOWN & COUNTRY, available everywhere by December 9.

On his life’s mantra: “I’m a humble student of how you live life best,” he says. “I know there’s a shelf life to life anyway, let alone this kind of whimsical activity. I’m happy to be used up as much as I can right now.”
On newfound gratitude and the lifestyle changes that followed his role in Wicked: “I’m more grateful and in love with life. And kinder to animals,” he says of the experience. “I recently stopped eating meat, as it happens. I hope that in five, 10, or 100 years, we’ll all be going, ‘What were human beings thinking?’”
On not remembering meeting Wicked co-star Ariana Grande before her fame: “She said, ‘Do you remember meeting me?’ I said no,” Goldblum recalls. “She said, ‘I came backstage. I came to see The Pillowman a couple of times, and I asked to take a picture with you.’” The photo, of a bespectacled Goldblum and a tweenage Grande, has made its rounds on the internet. “That blew my mind, he says. “I still have it on my phone.”
Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo on Goldblum: “To have a friendship with Jeff is really to be supported by one of the greatest,” says Erivo…“He is one of my favorite people in the entire world.”
Wicked co-star Jonathan Bailey on his bromance with Goldblum: “Being able to witness his craft and his commitment to process has been a real thrill. There’s something innately magical about him that is structured and supported by integrity. And, my gosh, the twinkle in his eyes— you know you’re going to be taken on a magical journey every time you see him onscreen or walk into a room. I’ve loved sharing this ride with him.”
On raising his two sons primarily in Florence, Italy, but summering in LA: “We’re trying to expose them to the healthiest, most nutritious environment and see how it all works out,” Goldblum says. Still, he confesses, the kids “kind of like L.A.”
On his review of Jurassic World Rebirth, starring Jonathan Bailey: “I liked it,” he says of the most recent film in the Jurassic franchise. I offer that a T. rex doesn’t really need to be made scarier by being cross-bred with a mutant, but Goldblum demurs. “I had a good time,” he says. “I had a very good time.”
On choosing a different watch for each of his characters over the years: “I’ve kind of proactively tried to investigate and locate the best watch for the character,” he says of a habit that began on the set of 2022’s Jurassic World Dominion. “I found a Rolex engraved with [my character] lan Malcolm’s initials on it. I made it ‘the lan Malcolm watch.’ I’ve still got that.”
