If you’re new here, welcome. Please have a look around. Allow us to start off by saying we’re lacist as hell. We especially loathe black lace dresses. There. You’re all caught up. Let’s go.
Amanda Seyfried in Prada

And we’ll kick things off by being hypocritical bitches. This is absolutely gorgeous on her. It helps that the lace is only a small part of the whole, and it’s more of an embroidered sheer anyway. It’s chic and gorgeously styled. We look at this and assume she’s gunning for awards this season.
America Ferrera in Rodarte

No. Sorry, America. It’s an absolute no of a dress. The skirt is sort of pretty, but the flimsiness of it looks very weird with the opaque top with those awful puff sleeves. For a completely body-baring dress, it manages the trick of being dowdy. It doesn’t help that she chose those high-waisted shorts. Either put on a body suit or line the whole thing, put those panties are not flattering.
Greta Lee in Dior

We have to say, we love this. It’s extremely dramatic and she’s very good at working it. Yes, the bodice looks flimsy, but we think it provides a nice tension to the look. The lining is impressive. Love the jewelry but we’d have rec’d a pendant. We know we’re saying that about ten times a day now, but plunging halter necklines practically demand them and they’re very much on trend at the moment.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus in Monique Lhuillier

Sue them, JLD. Haul their asses into court for doing this to you.
Lupita Nyong’o in Chanel

Another one where the high-waisted short isn’t particularly helpful to the look. Note that we’re not suggesting any of these wearers sport smaller panties. That’s kind of the point. You can’t make these dresses modest unless you line them. These half-assed measures look awkward under such fussy designs.
Taylour Paige in Alexander McQueen

We’re not sure what’s worse, that awful collar of those shoulder ruffles that go under the boobs. It’s just a horrible look.
