And thus did the cry ring out amongst all the celebrity style bloggers: “The boats are arriving! The boats are arriving!” We wouldn’t expect anyone other than our fairy blogsisters to understand this, but in late August, there’s always that nail-biting period between the end of summer blockbuster season and the beginning of the fall film festival season when there’s virtually no style content to be found anywhere. Thankfully, the Venice Film Festival kicks off this week and we literally spent all day yesterday and this morning monitoring the wires for the first images of any celebrity stepping off a boat. The earliest arrivals aren’t, shall we say, A-list international superstars, but we’re just happy to see some stars in outfits in front of cameras. Hit it, B-listers:
HEIDI KLUM
We’ll say it again: her casual style is miles ahead of her red carpet style. This is all very cute and photogenic and asks virtually nothing of her; essentially, it’s photogenic pajamas with a Gucci label. Cute sandals. Wouldn’t have rec’d a matchy bag.
NOOMI RAPACE
Nothing about this look says “disembarking at the Venice Film Festival,” to us but it’s still a pretty great traveling look. It’s a deceptively low-key ensemble, but almost all of the items – the jeans, shades, bag and belt especially – are pretty great.
