My Life With the Walter Boys stars Ashby Gentry, Nikki Rodriguez and Noah LaLonde got themselves dressed up for the second season premiere. No, we don’t know them either, but the show is popular in a Netflixy sort of way and we are about as far from the demographic for it as anyone could possibly be. Let’s get judgy.
Ashby Gentry
As much as we loathe that cord belt, it doesn’t bother us nearly as much as the doll feet. Still, the look is youthful and of the moment, so our quibbles don’t really matter.
Nikki Rodriguez
We figure every ingenue should wear a bedazzled denim mini at least once in her career, so congratulations for checking this one off the list, Nikki. It’s cute and basic but the bust design looks like a couple of oven mitts.
Noah LaLonde
Look, we can accept the return of the seventies leisure suit, especially when worn by people born decades after its heyday, but the styling here is so drab and low-key. It’s not a bad look, but the color is awful and he needs a more interesting shirt underneath.
ABOUT THE SERIES:
After leaving Silver Falls following Alex’s love confession and her kiss with Cole, Jackie Howard spent the summer in New York City. When Katherine convinces her to return to Colorado, Jackie is determined to make amends with Alex and set boundaries with Cole while finding her place within the Walter family. But fitting back in isn’t that easy. Alex – who changed a lot over the summer – isn’t too thrilled about Jackie’s attempts to reconnect, as he’s focused on training for a risky rodeo event (and enjoying all of the new attention he’s getting). Meanwhile, Cole takes on a new role at school, but when that doesn’t quite fill the void left by not playing football, his old ways creep back in and cause drama. As Jackie gains acceptance in Silver Falls while trying to hold onto her Howard identity, she’s forced to make a choice that could destroy everything she’s worked to rebuild.
