We have so much Cannes gownery and finery to cover that we feel like it’s a testament to the work Isabela Merced is doing on The Last of Us (we’ve been singing her praises all season in our recaps), as well as the cuteness of this look she wore to The Tonight Show, that we’re taking a break just to give it a little spotlight time. We figured you were up for something cute and sassy to break up all that ostentation.

It wouldn’t be our first impulse to suggest shoes in that color to be paired with that black tights. On the other hand, it feels a little fresh and maybe this is a sign that the pop-of-color shoe is trending back. Fashion loves to make minor tweaks to force things up or down the trend scale and pairing colorful shoes with black or colored tights may wind up being a thing again. Or she just likes how it looked. We like the dress, which is youthful and gives a little bit of heat, but also has a sedateness to it that keeps it from feeling overwhelming. Combined with that adorable hair, it all looks fresh and confident to our eyes.
