PinGloria Restaurant – Milan, Italy

Darligs, it’s TUESDAY and we’re afraid we have some bad news for you. It seems that the red carpet pickings are so slim at the moment that we’re going to have to leave you to get through the day on your own.

PSYCH!

It’s the day after the Met Gala, darlings! Strap yourselves in!

The 20 Best- and Worst-Dressed Celebs at the 2025 Met Gala
Tom + Lorenzo are here to dissect the highs (and lows) of fashion’s big night out.

It’s the Super Bowl of fashion, darlings! Oh, sure, it’s officially known as the Met Gala, but we all know it’s a fashion walk-off of epic proportions as every celebrity and designer scrambles for a little bit of that sweet, sparkly spotlight. This year’s red carpet offered something new and exciting, because for the first time, The Metropolitan’s Costume Institute was paying tribute to the historic style of Black men, with the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” exhibit. Let’s see who embodied the theme and who ignored it, shall we? And let’s judge the results in no particular order, of course.

An Exclusive Look Inside the 2025 Met Gala
While the first Monday in May always stirs up intrigue, anticipation for the 2025 Met Gala—themed “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” a sartorial homage to the Black dandy—was especially high. Alas, after months of breathlessly waiting to see who would attend and what everyone would wear, the event unfolded in stunning fashion at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Co-chairs Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, and Pharrell Williams all embodied dandyism in custom attire, presiding over an event attended by everyone from Spike Lee and Diana Ross to André 3000 and Halle Berry.
Inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art, artist Cy Gavin drew inspiration from the narcissus flower, which informed the centerpiece, and was also projected onto the ceiling of the Temple of Dendur during dinner at the 2025 Met Gala.
Set designer Derek McLane reinterpreted the painting as the centerpiece—which was made up of over 7,000 suspended flowers, all put together by event planner Raúl Àvila. “It’s spectacular,” Àvila says of this year’s design.

13 outstanding Met Gala hats that made a big statement
Top hats, fedoras, berets, embellished headpieces, and more.

Met Gala hats were the winning accessory of the night, and though they were all fairly different, each made a strong statement. The Met Gala 2025’s theme is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” and the dress code for the event is “Tailored for You.” So, how do hats come into play? Well, key aspects of Black Dandyism are sharp-tailored suits, vibrant colours, and of course, polished hats.

The suit trend was everywhere at the 2025 Met Gala
The theme was “Tailored for You,” and the ladies delivered.

With a dress code like Tailored for You, you had to know that at the Met Gala 2025, women in suits were going to be everywhere. And wouldn’t you know it, they definitely were.
The official Met Gala theme was “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” in honour of the cultural heritage of Black style and, more specifically, Black dandyism. We already knew that the evening’s co-chairs—Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, and Pharrell Williams—would pull out all the stops. They are, after all, some of the few men who consistently prove that men’s red carpet fashion doesn’t have to be boring, and this dress code was basically Tailored for Them.

The most show-stopping Met Gala 2025 beauty looks we can’t stop thinking about
Dramatic cat-eye and slick hair galore

One of the things that the star-studded Met Gala red carpet never fails to deliver is the parade of seriously impressive beauty looks. Sure, while fashion does take centre stage, each year the attendees go all out on everything from makeup, hair and nails, serving up ensembles that take their attire to a whole other level. Think: statement lips, structured cat-eyes, soft glam, blurred skin and everything in between. Case in point: the Met Gala 2025 red carpet.

The 2025 Met Gala just proved that matte make-up is making a big comeback
A soft, blurred complexion is *chef’s kiss*

The Met Gala is the event that keeps on giving, serving up a whole host of beauty looks that not only cement new trends but also revive those we thought we’d left behind. One recurring theme I couldn’t help but notice? The official return of the blurred, matte finish, be it in form of a soft-focused base or a diffused lip.
Gigi Hadid, for one, walked the blue carpet while rocking a fully matte, bronzy base, accompanied by an equally stunning matte lip combo. Elsewhere, Doja Cat rocked a bold red lip paired with matte pastel eyeshadow, and Shakira delivered a soft look with a cloud-like finish and a wash of pink to tie everything together.

Mia Threapleton Is Wes Anderson’s Next Breakout Star—and Happens to Be Kate Winslet’s Daughter
Twenty-four-year-old Mia Threapleton, who gives a revelatory performance in The Phoenician Scheme, talks about being raised by an Oscar winner, landing the biggest part of her life, and establishing a blossoming career on her own.

The 24-year-old English actor has appeared in a handful of films and TV series, including a small part in the Jude Law period drama Firebrand and a main role on Apple TV+’s The Buccaneers. But a lead role in an Anderson film—stuffed, as always, with A-listers and his most beloved recurring collaborators—is beyond uncharted territory. Premiering later this month at the Cannes Film Festival, the movie marks the moment Threapleton will be discovered by a larger public, to say nothing of the industry itself; despite being a newcomer to this singular filmmaker’s world, she’s a thrillingly natural fit. It’s also the moment more people are bound to learn about Threapleton’s background—specifically, that she is Kate Winslet’s daughter.

From Trad Wives, To A ‘Desperate Housewives’ Reboot, Via Meghan Markle: Inside The Great Housewife Re-Brand
Once upon a time, identifying as a housewife was a dirty word. Thanks to a shift to a softer, slower life though, that’s all changed. Naomi May goes inside the great housewife re-brand.

Look around, wherever you may be and you’ll see the signs: homes, meals and kitchens have become works of art, impeccably-situated, warmly-lit, mouthwateringly-delicious. Framed in the gallery of social media, their very existences have become something to be in awe of. There are trad wives ferrying their small armies of children around with seemingly minimal effort; there are Meghan Markle and Gwyneth Paltrow, building empires on the back of their homemaking abilities; there are the Real Housewives, glamorous ladies who lunch and now there are the women who kickstarted the phenomenon back in 2004: the Desperate Housewives.

From To Catch A Thief To La Piscine, 7 Sun-Drenched Films That’ll Transport You To The French Riviera
The sapphire blue of the Mediterranean, beaches dotted with palm trees, grand boulevards lined with glittering boutiques, days spent soaking in the sun on super yachts before partying long into the night – it’s no wonder that the French Riviera has proved irresistible for visitors across the globe, from the 1920s to now. And ever since then, the unparalleled beauty of this coastline – which stretches from the gilded casinos of Monte Carlo down to the lavish beach clubs of Saint-Tropez – has been immortalised on film. Just think of Grace Kelly driving Cary Grant up to a picturesque hilltop for a picnic in To Catch a Thief; Jane Birkin laying poolside in La Piscine; and Jean-Paul Belmondo and Anna Karina locking lips in Pierrot le Fou – an image so iconic that it adorned the official poster for the 71st edition of the Cannes Film Festival, the storied showcase which draws the world to the Côte d’Azur each spring.
Ahead of its 78th iteration, which kicks off on 13 May, we look back on seven films which capture the dreamy, dazzling spirit of the French Riviera – and will have you booking a flight, stat.

I’m Sweating Just Thinking About Summer’s Hottest Makeup Trends
A bold, bright dose of color.

I’d argue that summer is the best season of the year. Warm weather, trips to the beach, and time off from work to prioritize your mental health. It’s also the perfect time to refresh your makeup routine. And when looking ahead at summer 2025 makeup trends, it seems we’re moving away from the classic clean girl aesthetic and getting a little more creative with our cosmetics.
From neon eyeshadow and cherry red lips to bleached brows, bold glam and bright colors are having a moment. The world is out of sorts right now, and “when people feel out of control, they tend to express themselves through what they can control—and makeup is exactly that,” says celebrity makeup artist Vincent Oquendo.

Of Course Nicole Kidman Would Be the First to Try Westman Atelier’s Long-Anticipated Lip Liner Launch
And all the details on her new pixie.

With a theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” and a dress code of “Tailored For You,” it’s a given that Nicole Kidman’s 2025 Met Gala dress would be altered to perfection. But the Babygirl actress took her interpretation to the next level—ensuring her lips received the same made-to-order treatment as her outfit. Not only that, the Oscar-winner debuted a fresh pixie cut on the red carpet!
There are a handful of commonly employed lip lining techniques that makeup artists like to whip out for a red carpet—over-lining the Cupid’s bow, blurring the edges, or a stark contrast liner-lipstick color combo. But for Kidman’s makeup artist Gucci Westman, tonight was about enhancing what was already there. “I wanted it to feel modern and fresh—flirty, feminine, and glowing skin,” Westman exclusively tells Marie Claire. “For her natural lip look, I layered our new Lip Shape Lip Liner in Cou Cou, that’s coming soon, with our new Lip Suede Matte Lipstick in Pinch.”

A Local’s Guide to Italian Dining Etiquette
From getting the coffee you actually want to tipping etiquette, here’s what you need to know when dining out in Italy.

Whether you’re twirling spaghetti carbonara at a rustic trattoria in Rome, tucking into a hearty steak in Florence, or devouring a steaming pizza margherita in Naples, dining out is one of the great pleasures of traveling around il Bel Paese (the beautiful country). But just because you frequent Italian restaurants in the U.S., that doesn’t mean you’ll be prepared for the way menus are structured and the terms used in Italy. As a Rome-based journalist, I’ve learned the customs around ordering here, from how to ask for coffee (and get what you actually want) to the etiquette for savoring multi-course meals among friends and family. Here’s what you need to know.

Jamie Oliver Is Teaching Kids to Cook for Themselves on a Budget — and His Tips Will Help You Too
Maybe cooking classes will soon be coming to a school near you.

After selling millions of cookbooks worldwide, opening more than 70 restaurants, and earning a feature in Netflix’s Chef’s Table: Legends thanks to an acclaimed culinary career, British chef Jamie Oliver is shifting his focus to something new: teaching.
Oliver has recently announced his plan to launch the 10 Skills Food Education Platform — a complimentary collection of resources designed to teach children vital cooking skills — in the United States. However, 10 Skills extends beyond a mere curriculum; the resources provided aim to transform children’s lives and prepare them for future success. Having already implemented the program in 500 schools across the United Kingdom, Oliver now seeks to inspire further change across the Atlantic Ocean.

This Tequila Outscored Every Other Bottle at the 2025 London Spirits Competition
The Lowlands tequila may fly under the radar in the United States, but it just dominated the global spirits scene.

Earlier this spring, the London Spirits Competition (LSC) convened a panel of prestigious judges for a multi-day tasting in the heart of its namesake city. Their expert palates encountered thousands of liquids across every significant category of liquor, evaluating each based on quality both inside and outside the bottle. And that’s not an accident. In the crowded realm of professional booze judging, LSC stands apart as one that accounts for value and packaging aesthetics in its overall scores; numbers which range from 0–100.
When it comes to agave spirit, the big winner in London was also a big surprise.

Have You Gone Clutter Blind? Pro Organizers Share How You Can Tell
I still can’t believe I couldn’t see my own mess.
I was organizing my bedroom the other day when I noticed something lurking in the background — a suitcase sitting between my two dressers. Somehow, without me noticing, it had made itself at home in that crevice, contributing to clutter I didn’t even know I had.
That’s when I realized it: I had gone clutter blind. While my apartment is pretty organized and I declutter regularly, I had let that suitcase from my last vacation (weeks ago, may I add) claim its “spot” on the floor due to my own laziness to unpack. I spend hours in my bedroom every day, and not once did I think to put it away in my closet with the rest of my travel gear. It had simply become a part of the space, as natural as my nightstand or desk.

Freya Mavor tells all about her scandalous new role in the BBC’s Marie Antoinette and why she’d rather climb a mountain than parade around Versailles
As the duplicitous Jeanne de Valois, the mastermind of the Diamond Necklace Affair, Freya Mavor embodies courtly deceit. She reveals to Tatler how drag queens helped her prepare for the part and why she might one day disappear into the mountains

Freya Mavor deployed an unusual tactic to get into character on the set of Marie Antoinette. To prepare herself to play Jeanne de Valois, the scandalous mastermind behind the Affair of the Diamond Necklace, in the second season of the period drama, she watched hours of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
‘I felt there was something in drag queen and drag king culture that really resonated with her character,’ Mavor, of Skins and Industry fame, explains, over a peach and ginger juice in the rococo dining room of Kettner’s. Considered to be London’s oldest French restaurant and rumoured to have been established by Napoleon III’s private chef, the eatery is a fitting setting to discuss the plum role.

Restaurants Are Hard Enough to Run. Try Doing It With Your Mother.
When such family teams make it work, though, they can have mother-and-child super powers.

Parents have become more involved in their adult children’s lives and most report that it’s for the positive. According to a Pew Research Center survey, nearly 41 percent of parents reported that their young adult child relies on them for a strong amount of emotional support, with mothers identifying as the source of emotional support more frequently than fathers.
The feelings are mutual, and many adult children describe their relationships with their parents as healthy and fulfilling.
Still, even the healthiest mother-child dyad lacks immunity against the stress of running a food business together. That particular insidious pressure is commonly known: The restaurant industry is identified as having one of the highest failure rates among businesses in the United States.

King Charles III Unveils Coronation Portrait
A painting of the monarch in the regalia of the crowning ceremony is a royal tradition. An official painting of Queen Camilla was also revealed.

When King Charles III last year unveiled the first official portrait of his reign, the artwork caused a stir.
On social media, some users said that the painting, which depicts the king surrounded by a red glow, made Charles look like he was bathing in blood. Others said that the portrait, by Jonathan Yeo, made the king appear to be burning in hell.
So on Tuesday, King Charles was perhaps hoping for a better reaction when he unveiled his official coronation portrait — an artwork by Peter Kuhfeld showing the king in the regalia that he wore two years ago for the lavish crowning ceremony. In the work, sunlight from a nearby window makes the king’s crown, sat on a plinth, glisten.

The 50 Best Movies on Max Right Now
In addition to new Warner and HBO films, the streamer has a treasure trove of Golden Age classics, indie flicks and foreign films. Start with these.

When HBO Max debuted in May 2020, subscribers rightfully expected (and got) the formidable catalog of prestige television associated with the HBO brand. But its movie library drew from a much deeper well. Warner Bros. Discovery, which owns HBO, is a huge conglomerate, and its premiere streaming service comprises decades of titles from Warner Bros., Turner Classic Movies, Studio Ghibli and more. Viewed in that light, its recent rebranding as Max seems fitting.
That means a lot of large-scale fantasy series and selections from the DC extended universe. Max is also an education in Golden Age Hollywood classics and in independent and foreign auteurs like Federico Fellini, Satyajit Ray and John Cassavetes. The list below is an effort to recommend a diverse range of movies — old and new, foreign and domestic, all-ages and adults-only — that cross genres and cultures while appealing to casual and serious movie-watchers alike.

Rashid Johnson and Jeremy O. Harris on Black Creatives, White Villains, and the Spirituality of Art
Handsome, sober, a devoted family man, and one of the most celebrated artists in America, Rashid Johnson stays winning. Few artists have thrived while pushing in so many different directions—photography, film, mosaics, towering glass installations, even black soap and wax. Now, at 48, he’s landing a major Guggenheim retrospective titled A Poem for Deep Thinkers. Ahead of the exhibition, Johnson got on the phone with playwright and Interview consigliere Jeremy O. Harris to examine the pressure of being a Black creator, art-world money games, and why critical thinking is its own form of wealth.

Is Zellige Tile a Passing Trend? Here’s What Interior Designers Say
Designers give us their thoughts on the popular material.

Whether you’ve stumbled upon a swanky new hotel or scrolled through your favorite designer’s Instagram, chances are you’ve seen zellige tile. The traditional Moroccan clay material has been around for centuries, but has become increasingly popular in recent years. This is thanks to the tile’s beautiful raw texture and its tonal range, which can instantly transform a bathroom or kitchen.
However, design trends come and go, which begs the question: Is zellige tile just having a moment right now, or is it here to stay for the long run? Ahead, we tapped experts for their take on the longevity of zellige tile and how to use it so it feels timeless, rather than trendy.

I Turned a $7 Teapot From Goodwill Into a Vase and Flower Frog for Beautiful Arrangements
Give thrifted teapots new life with this easy DIY.

Vintage teapots are so charming and seem to be in great abundance at yard sales and thrift stores—I can hardly pass them by! In an effort to cut down on buying beautiful things just because they’re beautiful, I’ve challenged myself to only make purchases that can be justified as attractive and functional.
This challenge has proven to be fruitful in more ways than one: First, I’m cutting down on clutter, and second, if I really want something and can’t find a use for it, I’m engaging my creativity and coming up with alternative uses. Take for instance, this vintage teapot.

How to Clean Copper and Prevent Future Tarnishing
Copper naturally tarnishes over time, but it can be easily returned to its original state.

Copper pieces add warmth and elegance to any room. However, over time, they’re bound to lose their luster, developing a layer of tarnish. Even in optimal conditions (a cool, dry setting out of direct sunlight), tarnish can’t be avoided, and while it isn’t harmful, it can be unsightly. Luckily, it’s easy to polish away, but you’ll want to take extra care when it comes to cleaning copper—if you scrub too hard, you can scratch the metal and remove the finish. Our experts help you learn how to clean copper using the right cleaning supplies to safely restore your most beloved pieces.

This Lesser-known Virginia Destination Has Secluded Waterfalls, Wine Tasting, and a Charming Historic Town—and It’s 3 Hours From Washington, D.C.
Nelson County, Virginia, is a hidden gem you should have on your radar. Here’s how to plan the perfect visit.

Roughly three hours from Washington, D.C., Nelson County, Virginia, is a charming destination with an ideal combination of outdoor adventure, historic charm, and award-winning wineries.
As someone who grew up in Virginia, I’ve visited Nelson County more times than I can count. I’ve hiked its scenic trails, explored its hidden waterfalls, and even chosen it as the backdrop for some of the most important moments in my life—I got married nearby and celebrated my rehearsal dinner at the stunning Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards.

This Colorado National Park Was Just Named a Grand Canyon Dupe—and It Has a Scenic 7-mile Drive, Steep Gorges, and Epic Stargazing
Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park has its own dramatic cliffs, gorges, and ancient rock formations.

If you’re concerned about the number of people that descend upon national parks each summer—especially as the parks face staffing shortages driven by the recent layoffs and hiring freezes—you may want to shift your trip to more underrated, less crowded destinations. And RVshare has a few data-backed suggestions.
The RV rental platform created a list of “crowd-free destination dupes” by analyzing geographic similarities (looking at landscape, rock formations, waterways, and unique natural features), visitor data, trail and space availability, and local insights and travel reports. From there, it matched some of the most popular national parks, including Grand Canyon National Park, with parks that offer a “comparable yet quieter experience.”
So instead of visiting the Grand Canyon, a park that had nearly 5 million visitors in 2024, consider making your way to western Colorado, home to Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.
