Sirens stars Meghann Fahy and Milly Alcock talk on-screen sisterhood and why we love to watch rich people behaving badly
“We worship money as a society.”
Sisterhood can be a bitch – at least that’s what Meghann Fahy and Milly Alcock will tell you.
Their Netflix TV series, Sirens, boasts a dysfunctional relationship of two sisters at its centre. It doesn’t shy away from the many ways that siblings can misunderstand, irritate and feel like they can ruin you. But at the end of the day, as Meghann’s character Devon says: “No one knows you like a sister, know one knows you better”. […]
Meghann and Milly sat down with GLAMOUR to talk about why we love watching rich people behave badly, the poignancy they felt playing sisters and the best advice they’ve received to date as part of our interview series Girlhood Firsts.
Nicole Kidman Is On a High
During an interview in a hyperbaric chamber, the actor explains how “I get to do weird things and push boundaries.”
I know what you know: She’s 700 feet tall and made of pure Carrara marble. She has the silhouette of a Giacometti sculpture and has crushed movies, television, and all the Hollywood things as effortlessly, it would seem, as my kids pop bubble wrap. While her peers blew in white-hot, cooled to red-hot, then fizzled, flatlined, and peeled off into God knows where, Nicole Kidman just kept accelerating forward. I can’t think of a time she hasn’t been relevant. Big screen, small screen, all the medium-size screens. She has been everywhere in our lives, yet we never tire of her.
And just when I think Nicole Kidman, movie star among movie stars, couldn’t be more intimidating, I get the email. “Danielle should meet NK…for a dual hyperbaric chamber session….” I reread it a few times, hoping it’ll become English. ChatGPT tells me to prepare for an enclosed, sealed chamber that pumps out pure oxygen while increasing barometric pressure until air pressure is increased two to three times. The goals (if you believe in that sort of thing) range from increasing oxygen levels in the body to fighting infections. This is next-level intimidation. Hyperbaric intimidation.

Everything you need to know
From Adele’s pear-shaped diamond engagement ring to Lady Gaga’s oval-shaped rock, via Selena Gomez’s marquise-cut solitaire to Zendaya’s unique East-West set stone, celebrity engagement rings have certainly put sparkling diamond rings back in the spotlight. And as the gemstone traditionally associated with enduring love, strength and beauty, it’s easy to see why they remain a popular choice for signalling your commitment. Until a few years ago, choosing the perfect diamond for your ring involved a host of decisions that revolved around ‘the four Cs’: colour, cut, clarity and carat weight. Nowadays, it’s just as likely to involve an entirely new consideration: provenance.

As a perfume expert, I’ve tested hundreds of summer fragrances—but *this* is the most enticing holiday fragrance I’ve sniffed
The limited edition scent is here to stay
As soon as the sun starts shining, there is a shift in my fragrance choices. Most likely an attempt to channel my favourite season in as many ways as possible, out are my usual clean powdery scents and in roll the best summer perfumes and holiday fragrances.
Over the years, I’ve developed a few go-to summer perfumes whose tell-tale scents fill me with nostalgia for summers past, like Nuxe’s Delicious Fragrant Water and Aerin’s Mediterranean Honeysuckle. Last year however, a new perfume entered the rotation, and I’m not trying to be dramatic when I say, it may just be the most enticing summer scent I’ve come across so far. If you haven’t tried Kilian’s Sunkissed Goddess before now, it’s definitely time you did.
Flip Flops Are the Simple Yet Chic Shoe to Turn to This Season—Here Are 15 Styles to Shop Now
You can thank The Row for their resurgence
Ah, the flip flop—the humble summer sandals once considered best suited to beach days, poolside lounging or city strolls when the heat hits its peak. But, if you thought the simple shoe wasn’t exactly a fashion find, think again, as luxury label The Row has firmly cemented it a key staple of warm weather dressing.
Released in 2020, The Row’s Ginza flip flops were swiftly spotted on the feet of many chic women, and they’re proving more popular than ever this season. Why? Because their logo-less chunky-soled shape is minimal yet immediately recognisable, making them something of an if you know, you know fashion find. And they’ve sparked a flip flop fashion resurgence, with plenty of chic options now available in every colour you can think of.
Why the World Went Wild for Loewe’s Draped Designs
Anderson adds to his Loewe legacy once again
Most luxury labels are instantly recognisable by one of two things: a logo or a monogram. Think the Gucci double-G or Louis Vuitton’s signature canvas. In rare cases, the shape alone becomes the symbol—Hermès’ Birkin, we’re looking at you. But Loewe has achieved something even more elusive: a silhouette so distinctive, it has become the brand’s signature. Enter: Loewe’s new wave of draped designs.
First seen on the Spring/Summer 2025 runway, these pieces—particularly a butter-soft brown leather jacket—have already made their way into the wardrobes of some of fashion’s most discerning names. Tracee Ellis Ross, Aimee Song, Ayo Edebiri and Taylor Russell (the face of Loewe’s SS25 campaign) have all been spotted in the designs. And with good reason: the pieces are equally subtle yet striking, offering an “if you know, you know” signal to fashion fans across the globe.

Cannes Film Festival: 13 films to look out for this year
It’s a great year for Hollywood women behind the camera.
Cannes Film Festival is the ultimate destination for chic red carpet stars, as well as directors and actors looking for their next big break and story to tell. And 2025’s festival is no exception.
So what are the best titles at Cannes this year? Well, it’s a big year for Hollywood women behind the camera, as the line-up features both Kristen Stewart and Scarlett Johansson’s directorial debuts, The Chronology of Water and Eleanor the Great respectively. Both quite rightly centre female-led stories, one drawing on writer and swimmer Lidia Yuknavitch’s memoir and one focusing on an elderly woman’s quest for connection in New York City.
Why modern women owe a lot to 1920s fashion
Fashion history lesson incoming…
1920s fashion is intrinsically tied to the women’s liberation movement.
The time is post-World War I. Having taken on men’s roles in the workplace as their spouses went to war, women discovered a newfound sense of independence and freedom. Coupled with the celebratory spirit that came after the end of a brutal war, women in the ’20s were ready to shed the confines of Victorian dress and embrace a whole new outlook through fashion.
Netflix’s ‘Sirens’ Ending, Explained: Is Jocelyn Dead? Did Michaela Kill Her?
It’s as if a steroid-filled ‘The White Lotus’ had a child with ‘Nine Perfect Strangers’ — Netflix’s latest limited series, ‘Sirens’, has left the internet abuzz with questions. This is its ending, explained.
It’s been 45 days (but who’s counting?) since the explosive, 90 minute-long finale of The White Lotus’ third season aired and if you, like us, are feeling an eat-the-rich television void — fear not, we have just the show to scratch the itch. Introducing Netflix’s latest laugh-out-loud dark comedy, Sirens, which stars Julianne Moore and Meghann Fahy (we did say it would fill The White Lotus-shaped hole in your life!)
Produced by Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap production company, Sirens is the streaming service’s attempt to muscle in on the satirical cannon of hit TV shows — Succession, Nine Perfect Strangers, The White Lotus et al — whose very raison d’être is to hold a mirror up to self-congratulatory nature of privilege and material excesses.
This Is the First Time We’ve Seen the Full Titanic Shipwreck
New scans reveal the smallest of details from unopened champagne to a propeller’s serial number.
More than a century after the Titanic sank in the North Atlantic Ocean, the world’s most famous shipwreck is being seen in a new way.
Researchers have produced the first full-sized digital scan of the Titanic, using deep-sea mapping to create a detailed 3D reconstruction of the wreck, located 12,500 feet below sea level. Captured in summer 2022 by deep water specialists Magellan Limited and Atlantic Productions, which is making a documentary about the project, the project used remotely operated submersibles that spent over 200 hours gathering more than 700,000 images. The result shows the ship in striking detail, as if the surrounding water has been removed, with the bow and stern lying approximately 2,625 feet apart amid a wide debris field.
The scan reveals some never-before-seen minute details, from unopened champagne bottles to some of the passengers’ shoes to the manufacturer’s serial number on one of the propellers.
The Incredible True Story of How the Mona Lisa and the French Crown Jewels Escaped the Nazis
How did spies, curators, and an army of art handlers save some of the world’s most important artwork? An excerpt from the new book The Art Spy, reveals the amazing truth.
At 8 A.M. on August 25, 1939, two months after Reich Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels roused the people of Danzig to “come home to the Reich,” the German warship Schleswig-Holstein entered the port of the city with over 200 naval shock troop soldiers. Hitler was starting to make good on his threats.
At 5 p.m., the French museums received a message they knew would come: start packing.
To Rose Valland, a forty-five-year-old French art curator at the Jeu de Paume museum, the previous year felt in hindsight like “one long and continuous slide to the inevitable.” She was used to operating solo but there was a new sense of gravity. Packing materials overflowed from the Jeu de Paume’s basement and storage rooms onto the exhibition floors. It would also be a long time before her boss, André Dezarrois—attached to the French Air Force—might return, if at all. The responsibility of the Jeu de Paume—the art collection, the building, and the staff—rested entirely on her shoulders.
A Complete Guide to Wedding Dress Preservation
After investing time and money into curating your bridal attire, it’s only natural to be curious about wedding dress preservation once the big day passes. Keeping your gown in its best condition with the help of professionals can not only create an heirloom piece for future generations, but it’s also a way to treasure and hold on to the beautiful memories attached to the garment. While you don’t necessarily have to put your gown on display like an antique piece found at a museum, properly cleaning and placing your wedding dress in a preservation box can help you capture a moment of your own sartorial history.
Ahead, we get the expert insights on the ins and outs of wedding dress preservation from Jonathan Scheer, the president of couture cleaning and preservation company J. Scheer and Co. and a conservationist for pieces seen at The Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Museo Casa Kahlo, a New Frida Kahlo Museum, Will Open in Mexico City This Fall
In 1904, the Hungarian-German immigrant Guillermo Kahlo built a house in the Coyoacán neighborhood of Mexico City. There, he would raise his children and establish himself as a sought-after photographer, documenting the region’s Colonial architecture. One of his daughters, Frida, would even help her father in the dark room, developing negatives, retouching photos, and arguably beginning her artistic education.
As an adult, Frida Kahlo would occupy the same house with her husband, Diego Rivera, transforming it into a gathering place for great personalities of the era: Leon Trotsky, Henry Moore, André Breton. The house has had a vibrant afterlife as well. In 1958, four years after Kahlo’s death, it was converted into the now-beloved Museo Frida Kahlo (known to many as Casa Azul), which vies with the National Museum of Anthropology for the rank of most-visited museum in Mexico City.
Scarlett Johansson Unveils Her Newest Role at Cannes: Filmmaker
The star came across the script for “Eleanor the Great,” already starring June Squibb, and instantly realized, “I know how to make it.” Now she wants to direct again.
Few movie stars today win over critics and convey Old Hollywood glamour as effortlessly as Scarlett Johansson does, all while seemingly impervious to the industry’s convulsions.
Now 40, she has been famous most of her life. She turned 10 the year her first movie, “North,” opened in 1994; four years later, she was upstaging Robert Redford in “The Horse Whisperer.” In the decades since, she starred in cult films and blockbusters, made a record with Pete Yorn and earned a couple of Oscar nominations. In between hits and misses, she also married three times (most recently to Colin Jost) and had two children.
‘Barbie’ and ‘Beauty and the Beast’ Props and Sets Featured at New Academy Museum Exhibit: ‘It Allows People to See That Anything Is Possible’
When the Academy museum first approached production designer Sarah Greenwood and set decorator Katie Spencer about curating an exhibition of their work, the duo thought it was a joke.
But two and a half years later, “Barbie to Anna Karenina: The Cinematic Worlds of Sarah Greenwood and Katie Spencer” is set to open on May 23, providing an immersive and experiential look at their collaborative work. That same evening, the Academy Museum will screen Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie,” followed by a Q&A with Spencer and Greenwood.
This Is the Best Way to Cut Onions Without Crying, New Research Reveals
A sharp knife is key.
Home cooks have shared countless tricks to stop themselves from crying while cutting onions, from chilling them in the fridge beforehand to using a fan to blow away the vapors to wearing a pair of goggles to protect their eyes. But researchers at Cornell University may have just determined the best, scientifically proven way to stop the tears from flowing.
According to a physics paper published on arXiv, an open-access archive for scholarly articles, using a sharp knife while making slow, controlled cuts seems to be the best way to minimize tears when chopping onions.
When onions are cut, they release a compound known as syn-propanethial-S-oxide that triggers the nerves responsible for producing tears. So a team of physicists decided to study how the compound gets released, visualizing and quantifying droplet ejection during onion cutting.
33 Seashell Crafts That Evoke the Beauty of Summer
Turn your beachcombing treasures into creative DIY projects.
The shells the ocean washes up during summertime are lovely remembrances of the season, which is especially true when you turn them into beautiful keepsakes. Of course, before you use shells to make things like necklaces and mobiles, you have to find them first. It’s important to be very choosy: To preserve the ecosystem, many states strongly encourage collectors to limit the number of shells they pick up, as they foster more resilient coastlines and healthier aquatic life.
To ready your finds for crafting and display, scrape them out if needed, cover with water in a pot, and boil for five minutes. Let cool completely, and make the most of your oceanside treasures. Then, use them to decorate your walls and interior spaces, turn them into wearable accessories, or display them on your table as a centerpiece. Your options are as endless as the waves: Here’s an array of projects you can make using the seashells you’ve collected along the shoreline.

This British Country Garden Estate Is Less Than an Hour From London—With Champagne Boat Rides on the River Thames
Few places can rival the traffic jams you find in central London. Truly, the bumper-to-bumper roadways around commuting time could easily drive someone to madness. On a recent journey to the British city, I was in one such jam—only this time I didn’t have a care in the world. Because in under an hour, I’d be in a place where the flowers bloom, the lawn is sprawling, and fresh air abounds.
In early spring of 2025, I made my way to the UK on a girls’ trip, specifically to the Cliveden House, a five-star luxury spa retreat in Berkshire, England, which we heard about after Meghan Markle stayed there with her mother the night before her wedding. However, it’s not just the Duchess’ stay that makes this place special. It’s also its 350-year history and its surprising proximity to the center of London that make it utterly magical.
