Julia Garner came to serve up a little dark glam at opening ceremony for the Cannes Film Festival.

It’s not a design that’s going to shock anyone with its newness and originality, but it suits her really well. The sheer over the sequins makes for a subtle but eye-catching effect and we wonder if this signals a whole week of lined sheer dresses, now that the festival has put its foot down on freeing the nip. Granted, it’s not likely that Gucci whipped this up in response to the new dress code, but we wonder if this will signal a change in the red carpet going forward. We’ll be batting that one around in this week’s podcast. In unrelated news, we love the earrings.
