The Alto Knights held its New York premiere and it was an even grimmer affair than the one they had in London. Stars Robert De Niro and Debra Messing were joined this time by their co-star Kathrine Narducci, and it is more than clear that none of them spoke to each other ahead of time about what they were planning to wear.

We’ll give each of them credit for dressing like a New Yorker, but they all look like three random strangers on the sidewalk, heading to different events; one office-bound professional, one on a Walgreen’s run, and one heading to a gallery or gala opening. The only throughline is that they all eschewed color. De Niro is simply not worth mentioning further and that is exactly how he wants it. Narducci’s fine. The jacket’s a bit boxy. It could use a little sparkle or color, pattern or texture to stand out more. Debra’s taking a hard left turn from her last look. We appreciate the range, but we’re not sure this style suits her all that well. The dress just looks unfinished to us. She’s a gal who comes alive with a little volume in her hair, so this style just isn’t it. The jewelry pieces are nice, but they don’t all go together.
