Let’s go, queers! The stars came out to sparkle for the GLAAD Media Awards and we thank them for their support, but we’re still going to tell them what they got wrong. We gave Cynthia Erivo and Doechii their spotlight posts because, well… because they deserved them, but these folks also need you to tell them what you think, so put your judgin’ pants on.
Cooper Koch
Meh. We hope this doesn’t sound anti-queer or anything, but we’re getting very tired of the fussy ties and fussier loafers.
Dylan Efron
Boring.
Dylan Mulvaney in Markgong
Someday we’re going to get this girl to see that retro styles aren’t the best choice for her. They’re not even a good choice for her. That hair is awful.
Hannah Einbinder
It’s definitely interesting and unexpected, but the seaming is awful and the textile looks cheap.
Joe Locke in Thom Browne
Adorable. The closures are weird, though.
JoJo Siwa
That is a wonderful message and we will always support all of God’s Queer Children, but…she tests us. The jorts are awful.
Joshua Jackson
We want to support a straight guy in a pink suit and we want to be welcoming to a straight guy showing his support to the queers, but a straight coming to a queer event in a pink suit feels a little… stunty? But he looks good.
Lena Waithe
That jacket’s gorgeous. It’s nice to see her get away from the men’s-style suits for a change.
Lil Nas X
Oh, is he doing the cowboy thing again? We’ll be honest; this doesn’t even come close to some of his best, queerest, most adventurous red carpet looks. Feels a little stale to us.
Michael Urie
Sorry, Michael. This ensemble was not designed for showing off the guns. It’s much better with the jacket on. We hate the color.
Michaela Jaé Rodriguez in Ashi Studio Couture
It’s just okay. The bodice is way too stiff and we don’t love the scarf.
Nava Mau in Roberto Cavalli
Oof. Girl, no. That looks hellaciously cheap.
Patti LuPone in Temperley London
We love a grande dame turn, especially when it’s executed by an unquestionable dame who is grande, but we’re sorry, Patti. Peach, gold and cream is a really tough combo to pull off and we don’t think it suits you at all. This is all wildly over-embellished, to boot.
Paul W. Downs
Paul, you look pissed. Did you not realize you were wearing way too much beige until now?
Sasheer Zamata
FABULOUS. In a different setting, we might think it a bit drag-adjacent and over the top, but it’s perfectly at home here. It’s fun and she looks gorgeous.
