The cast of Mickey 17 hit the Berlinale premiere red carpet in some surprisingly stylish look. Well. Most of them did, anyway. Let’s assess.

SPECTACULAR. As far as we’re concerned, this is exactly how you push red carpet menswear in a more modern, less suit-oriented direction. Timothee Chalamet, take notes. He looks amazing; impeccable, hot, and as modern as modern gets. No notes. It’s all perfect, as far as we’re concerned. In fact, it’s one of the best men’s red carpet looks we’ve seen in ages, and may wind up as one of our all-time faves. More of this, please. Less of the corporate/security detail suits.

The more we take this in, the more we think the bangs are what’s making the look. The dress is perfectly fine, but the hair pushes the whole look in a more modern direction. We’re surprised to admit it, but we think we might like the thong sandals, too. Like the hair, they’re unexpected and feel fresh.

We loathe turtlenecks and yet we love this for him. Our only quibble is with the sleeve length, which we presume to be intentional. Love the boots. Again, it’s all feeling very fresh and of-the-moment with this cast.

Most of this cast, that is. We wanted to like this, but the print and colors are chintzy and they’re giving nightgown more than caftan. It’s got a great shape to it, though. In better colors, with a less tacky looking print, this could’ve been fantastic on her.
