Molly Ringwald Explains Why She Doesn’t “Personally Believe” In Remaking ‘The Breakfast Club’
Despite the long-awaited reunion, don’t expect a the original Breakfast Club to endorse a modern update.
As she reunited with her co-stars from the 1985 John Hughes-helmed teen classic on Friday at Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo, Molly Ringwald explained why she doesn’t think the film needs a remake.
“I personally don’t believe in remaking that movie. Because I think this movie is very much of its time,” she said, according to multiple outlets. “You know it’s very white, this movie. You don’t see a lot of different ethnicities; we don’t talk about gender, none of that, and I feel like that really doesn’t represent our world today.”

Alicia Silverstone Is Officially Returning as Cher in a ‘Clueless’ Sequel Series
As. If.

Nearly 30 years after the original (and iconic) movie came out in 1995, new life has been breathed into Clueless. News broke yesterday that there will be a sequel series headed to Peacock starring Alicia Silverstone, whose career was catapulted to new heights after she played the lead role of fashion-forward Cher Horowitz in the film.
Silverstone—whose fashion in Clueless set the tone for the mid-1990s—reacted on Instagram on April 17, the same day word got out about the series. “Totally buggin’…in the best way,” she wrote, alluding to one of the movie’s signature lines.

All the cool girls I know are wearing ‘stained glass nails’ for spring
Try something different at the salon

Spring 2025 offers up a whole host of options for new, exciting nail art. From mermaid manis to peach champagne nails, this new season brings with it some cool and cute ways to style out your look. But one new emerging trend I’ve been spotting may feel a little more unexpected: stained glass nails.
On first look, stained glass nails look like a hybrid of a classic cat eye and the hi-shine glass nail trend, but there’s a noticeable edge here. Coined by Viktoria Kolodii, a nail designer and founder of MVK nail studios, the look centres around playing with depth and gradient.

I haven’t worn my hair completely natural for years, but this air-dry styling cream has made me love my waves again
I will never be without this

I am well aware that I take my naturally wavy hair for granted. Friends and family tell me as much all the time, but I’ve never quite known what to do with it. It dries differently almost every time I wash it, I have a very inconsistent wave pattern, and I never feel that it actually looks *good*. However, the new Living Proof Air Dry Styler might have just changed everything.
Tracking down the best wavy hair products has been a lifelong mission for me. If I let my hair dry naturally, I’m left with hair that just falls flat and has a mixture of straight and curly strands. Shampoo for curly hair and gels and mousses designed for coils are far too heavy for me, but not using any products renders my hair lifeless.

This sunscreen leaves my skin so glowy—it’s basically replaced most of my makeup-bag
Forget the foundation…

I think we all know by now the importance of wearing SPF. It’s the one product that dermatologists and skin experts are unanimous about recommending—thanks to its ability to protect skin from sun damage. This, in turn, prevents the appearance of things like pigmentation, fine lines and dehydration as we age.
However, while I never stop banging on about it being a non-negotiable part of my own skincare routine, I’m well aware that many people have had bad experiences with facial sunscreen. I feel you. As someone with acne-prone skin, I’ve used many a sun lotion that has exacerbated breakouts and increased oiliness, and it’s not what you want when you’re trying to look after your skin health. So, you can take my sunscreen recommendations seriously.

Of course, we can’t forget the classics either, from Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton’s legendary sparklers to Victoria Beckham’s impressive 15-ring collection—each every bit as desirable today as they were back then.

17 best And Just Like That looks, ranked
Remember that Vivienne Westwood wedding gown?

And Just Like That… season 3 is around the corner and the trailer that just dropped is already stirring up some questions. Will Carrie and Aidan finally make things right? Will Samantha make an appearance? And most importantly, what fresh joys (or hell) will the wardrobe bring?
The Sex and the City spinoff stars the original cast Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw, Kristin Davis as Charlotte York, and Cynthia Nixon as Miranda Hobbes, as well as new beloved characters like Sarita Choudhary as Seema Patel and Nicole Ari Parker as Lisa Todd Wexley. Perhaps even more so than the storylines—which have been heavily debated over, from its “wokeness” to its portrayal of non-binary characters—the costumes also always end up in the headlines, for better or worse.

‘We’ll keep fighting’: Nicola Coughlan speaks out in support of the transgender and non-binary community
The Bridgerton star has also set up a fundraiser and will match donations up to £10,000.

Nicola Coughlan has voiced her support for trans and non-binary people, following the UK Supreme Court’s ruling to exclude transgender women from the definition of ‘woman’ under the Equality Act 2010.
In a video posted on Instagram, the 38-year-old said she was “completely horrified by the Supreme Court’s ruling”, adding, “To see an already marginalised community being further attacked in law is really stomach-churning and disgusting.”

From Sex To Ghosting, These Are The Realities Of Dating With A Disability
When Frances Ryan began researching her new book Who Wants To Be Normal?, she discovered that there’s one part of life that’s stuck in the dark ages for disabled women.

When I wrote my book, Who Wants Normal? about life as a disabled woman in Britain today — and interviewed over fifty well-known women and non-binary people with mental and physical health conditions for it — I found huge progress in many areas compared to even a few decades ago. From being shut out of schools and jobs as recently as the 1990s, disabled women today have made waves in everything from the workplace to representation. But I was struck by how one part of life seems stuck in the dark ages: relationships.

The Graduated Bob Is Back, Here’s How To Style The Nostalgic Cut Now
From Lily Collins to Victoria Beckham, the style set is reviving this old-school hairstyle.

The graduated bob probably calls to mind the nostalgia of the Nineties, when the inverted, sharp crop was as omnipresent and revered as skinny brows and overlined lips. Fast forward to today and the formerly blunt, razored cut is enjoying a moment in the spotlight, taking on a slightly softer iteration for the new season.
As for your modern style references? Lily Collins, for one, who stepped out with a Posh Spice-inspired bob recently, and Victoria Beckham, who has long endorsed the popular crop, also reimagined the cut adding a contemporary edge via softer layers and subtle waves.

Are You A Relationship Anarchist Or A Pleasure Activist? These Are The New Ways We Love Now
The way we connect with one another is changing irreversibly, with unadulterated pleasure front and centre. Writer Alexandra Jones takes a look at the movements shaking up the love scene.

I asked ChatGPT to write me a love story recently. It took 12 seconds to distill all human knowledge – every romantic epic, Petrarchan sonnet and psychology.com listicle – into a six-paragraph narrative, in which Mia and Elias meet on a dating app, go for a walk in Borough Market and live happily ever after.
Setting aside for a moment the fact that no self-respecting Londoner would go on a first date to Borough Market (now the sole preserve of FoodTok micro-influencers), it was a work of such stultifying banality that I had to ask the robot to explain its reasoning. This is what it gave me: ‘The story suggests that, despite all the digital intricacies and illusions that characterise modern relationships, there’s still a deep human longing for genuine connection.’

Things To Do In Ibiza: A Guide To The Isla Blanca For Mini Breaks, Summer Holidays And Hen Dos
We’ve got you covered. Here’s your Ibiza travel guide for 2025.

Ibiza is synonymous with a fizzing, frenetic energy that has never felt more alive than in 2024. A growing commitment to agroturismo sees a slew of boutique hotels, such as Atzaró, offering extreme luxury but operating sustainably and serving farm to table food alongside offering characterful rooms in beautiful houses and fincas. Meanwhile, the Six Senses hotel is setting a fresh standard for environmentally-friendly luxury across the Balearics. The Super Clubs are diversifying with queer friendly nights that attract a mixed crowd of pleasure-seekers and a chic, low-key bar and restaurant scene in villages such as Santa Gertrudis is appealing to those holidaying in Ibiza for the chilled-out vibe more than the DJ line-ups and hen do frivolity.

30 Dark Blue Nail Looks for a Denim-Inspired Summer Manicure
Nail experts adore the versatile shade.

While baby blue reigns supreme for spring, summer is all about dark blue. Although the bold, saturated hue is a departure from the bright shades we usually associate with the sunny season, think of it like dark-washed denim—a neutral of sorts that goes with anything.
Dark blue “is such a beautiful, cool tone, but still versatile,” says CND co-founder Jan Arnold. Nail artist Rachel Joseph adds that it can also “be a fun, playful color” for negative space designs and French manicures. “It makes for a nice bold statement,” says Joseph.

Do You Obsess Over Interactions After the Fact? Here Are 4 Ways to Manage Post-Event Rumination
Did I do anything embarrassing? Why did I say that? Why did I do that? This has been my typical mental monologue after leaving a social catchup or event over the last few years.
In the past, my social anxiety would manifest itself prior to or during social situations. But more recently, I’ve found that while I’m relaxed leading up to a hangout with friends, and genuinely happy and present with them in the moment, the anxiety rears its head once I return home. I begin to scrutinize the way I behaved, fixating on anything I consider embarrassing. It’s a terrible pattern, a kind of post-socializing misery hangover.
To be sure, it’s not generally a bad thing to reflect after a social interaction, says Amanda di Bartolomeo, Ph.D., a Los Angeles–based clinical psychologist specializing in social anxiety disorder. Existing within a community requires that we learn from and adjust the way we interact with other people.

Scientists Just Figured Out How Food Aversions Actually Form
That one time you got food poisoning? Your brain won’t forget it.

The ways in which your body works to protect you without you even noticing are astonishing — and that includes your brain’s efforts to save you from food poisoning.
In early April, researchers published findings in the peer-reviewed scientific journal Nature that explored how animal brains — specifically mice — learn to associate certain flavors with sickness, even when symptoms of illness don’t appear until several hours later.
The study investigated how animal brains perform what’s known as “credit assignment,” a process that helps them determine which food or event caused them to get sick, even when the culpable meal was eaten some time ago.

The 12 Best Italian Wineries to Visit Near Milan
Classic cuisine, great wine, and warm Italian hospitality await.

Travelers flying into or staying in Milan are within driving distance of a number of top wine regions, among them one of Italy’s greatest: Piedmont, the home of Barolo and Barbaresco (and in the fall, white truffles).
If you’re heading into this region, build in some time to visit Turin en route, a beautiful city that’s also home to the Bicerin, a velvety mixture of espresso, chocolate, and milk that is decadent in the best way. Keep going west and north toward Genoa, and you’ll reach the coastal vineyards of Liguria, known for brisk, minerally whites from the Vermentino and Pigato grapes.

‘I’ve Been Given These Cards. Now What Do I Do With That?’ Blue Origin’s heavily criticized all-female flight was Amanda Nguyen’s best shot at space.
While Katy Perry was floating upside down in space, cooing “Oh my goddess!” at the moon, Amanda Nguyen had a job to do. The Blue Origin capsule carrying Lauren Sánchez and the five women chosen to join her on a trip across the Kármán line had just reached zero gravity, and Nguyen had less than a minute to execute two experiments. She took Petri dishes out of a small pouch in her seat, which immediately flew in opposite directions, adding precious seconds to her timeline. While Nguyen decided which one to prioritize, Perry released the set list for her upcoming tour in front of a camera capturing video of their flight. One by one, the other women aboard — CBS anchor Gayle King, film producer Kerianne Flynn, and Aisha Bowe, an entrepreneur and former NASA engineer — displayed their own zero-G indicators, objects astronauts float to show they’ve reached microgravity.
Nguyen, an activist and bioastronautics researcher, planned to release the hospital bracelet from the night she was raped in college and a note she wrote herself back in her dorm room to never give up on her dreams of becoming an astronaut.

Justin Bieber’s Crisis of Faith?
A bitter management shake-up. Angry public outbursts. A “narcissistic” pastor whose word is gospel. What in God’s name is happening to the once-mighty pop icon? “Whatever he’s going through, I pray for him” a longtime collaborator says.

In recent months, Bieber has been giving glimpses into his new life on social media, but whereas usually what someone presents on Instagram is the best version of themselves — the most flattering angle, an idyllic backdrop, just the right filter and, of course, the caption conveying a life lived to its fullest — some of Bieber’s posts have been more cryptic. […]
In other posts, Bieber shared feeling “unworthy,” like he’s “drowning and unsafe.” Further down the scroll are visuals of a hollow-eyed Bieber brazenly smoking a blunt and rapping about getting high. Recent photos of Bieber out and about show him looking gaunt and disappearing into his clothes. Off social media, he’s also displayed some questionable behavior. At the Super Bowl, Bieber was seen dancing atop a VIP suite sofa shirtless and barefoot, bewildering nearby spectators. And just last week, Bieber had a testy exchange outside a Palm Springs coffee shop, chastising a group of paparazzi: “All you care about is money, not human beings.”

Grace Kelly’s wedding dress had a fascinating history with ties to her Hollywood career
Prince Rainier of Monaco’s wedding to his Hollywood bride 69 years ago was the stuff of fairytales. Here, a look back at Grace Kelly’s wedding dress

When it comes to the most celebrated bridal gowns of the 20th century, Grace Kelly’s wedding dress for her nuptials to Prince Rainier of Monaco certainly tops the list.
The dress reflected that of a Hollywood actress marrying into the Monégasque royal family, one that went on to inspire the wedding dress choices of thousands of women after her including Kate Middleton, whose 2011 Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen gown bore a close resemblance.
Not only was Grace Kelly at the height of her career when she married the dashing prince 67 years ago this week, after her nuptials she was to become a princess and her gown had to reflect that. The wedding was broadcasted by multiple European channels and was witnessed by over 30 million viewers who tuned in to catch the first glimpse of the dress which was designed by Academy Award-winning costume designer Helen Rose.

Overlooked No More: Ethel Lina White, Master of Suspense Who Inspired Hitchcock
A powerhouse of the genre, she published around 100 short stories and 17 novels, one of which was adapted into the acclaimed film “The Lady Vanishes.”

Before Alfred Hitchcock made his name in Hollywood, he turned to the work of the British suspense novelist Ethel Lina White.
White was a powerhouse of the genre in the 1930s, publishing more than 100 short stories and 17 novels, three of which were adapted into films, most notably Hitchcock’s “The Lady Vanishes” (1938). That movie, filmed in England, was named one of the top 100 films of the 20th century by the British Film Institute. It won Hitchcock the best director award from the New York Film Critics Circle — one of the few awards he would ever win for his directing — and it was the last film he made in England before he moved to Los Angeles.

This Japanese Peninsula Is Considered the Birthplace of Wasabi—and It Has Stunning Waterfalls, Too
I visited Japan’s Izu Peninsula, and discovered delicious seafood, stunning coastal scenery, and relaxing onsens.

The scent of wasabi wafted faintly in the air as I walked by terraces filled with the distinctive plants in Japan’s Izu Peninsula. The cool, shady mountain slopes were ideal for hiking, and abundant natural springs provided just the right environment for growing the area’s famed wasabi. During the trip, my trekking companions and I didn’t just admire wasabi growing—we ate it just about every way possible, from a freshly grated dollop atop vanilla soft-serve ice cream to sprinkled over bowls of steaming soba buckwheat noodles with mountain yam and local vegetables.
