The Carter family showed a unified front (and a Princess Cathy level of outfit coordinating) in the wake of an unfolding and horrifying scandal as Jay-Z joined Beyoncé and their daughter Blue Ivy at the Mufasa: The Lion King premiere.
Obviously, we’ve got nothing to say about the veracity of the allegations against him, but we’re also not all that interested in assessing his outfit while this hangs over him, so let’s just move on to the divas in attendance.
They both look stunning. That may be one of Bey’s best red carpet looks ever, although we don’t love the sheer panel, which is less about modesty and more about holding those cups in place. Blue Ivy’s dress is a lot for a twelve-year old, but we’re not going to pretend to be scandalized by it. This is exactly what a lot of 12-year-old girls would pick to wear if they had the chance to do so. Still, strapless and corseted, with chest contouring is… well, obviously her parents signed off on it, but it is, as we said, a lot for her age. Interesting how little jewelry they’re wearing. We wonder if they scrambled to tone down their looks for this moment.
