Very attractive couple who also look like siblings Jack Lowden and Saoirse Ronan hit the British Independent Film Awards looking very serious and chic.

We honestly go back and forth on this one. As we said, chic. But also a little dreary, maybe? On the other hand, they’re impressively well coordinated. We almost wish we could do a double IN or OUT post to have y’all settle it, but let’s see if we can break things down a little.

We think we may be looking at the problem here. The suit is nice. We like the brooch and we covet the shoes. But wearing a buttoned black (or perhaps midnight blue) dress shirt and no tie with a black suit is gonna make you look like a preacher man, brooch or no brooch. A tie would solve this, but we suspect he’d just pick a black one.

We like this dress for being textural and unexpected. While it comes off a bit stiff and heavy, that appears to be the point of the design. We don’t think that’s the best hairstyle for her, but she really does have a perfect widow’s peak, so we don’t blame her for showing it off. Besides, a dress like this would look silly with lighter, less serious styling. It works, but the overall impression of the two of them is that they could seriously do with a little lightening up.
