The Day of the Jackal stars Lashana Lynch and Leanin’ Eddie Redmayne are hitting the European promo trail and serving looks at the Berlin and Rome premieres. Let’s assess.

More than just looks, they’re serving shapes. We appreciate that they’re each having a little fun with their silhouettes. Unfortunately, Lashana’s gown looks more like oversized judges’ robes. We would never suggest she do anything but proudly highlight her bump, but we think putting a massive bow on a pregnant woman’s stomach is a questionable design choice. It’s all just too much and it doesn’t photograph well. We’re usually of the opinion that the funkier, edgier styles Eddie prefers don’t always suit him that well, but we have to admit, the flares look fantastic on him. It helps tremendously that, unlike so many other men sporting wide-legged or flared pants, he’s wearing them with a heeled boot, which helps prevent the dreaded doll feet.

This is a personal best for her. Like we said, we don’t like to impose hard suggestions about how a lady should style her pregnancy, but this lady definitely looks way better when she sticks to more body con styles, if only because she has a pretty rigid adherence to black in her preferences. She looks great. We loved Eddie’s look too, but these pants are so big that those same boots are starting to look a little doll-like. Dudes, you’ve got to start getting into platforms if you want to sport the massive pants.
