As we wrote yesterday, we really appreciate Kacey Musgrave’s love of Country Kitsch drag and we admire how well she expresses that love in her public style. She’s always consistent in her preferences, but every outfit feels like a minor surprise.
We feel like a crystal and feather-embellished denim gown is a pretty much flawless choice for an event like the CMAs. For years, we’ve been bemoaning the loss of good Country Glam on the roughly 400 country music awards shows held every year. We can’t have Dolly shouldering that burden all by herself. Does this strike us as tacky? Sure, but in a manner that’s perfectly appropriate. Are we without notes or quibbles? Darlings, have you met us? Here they are: the Cookie Monster sleeves have to go, the design would look better with a shorter skirt, and the beige pumps are a total WTF choice. Girl, you should be wearing the most Country Barbie pair of crystal and glitter boots you can find with a dress like this.
