Julia Fox has a new movie out and she headed off to the Rome Film Festival to promote it and, as always, to seek attention for herself. Let’s assess her super-cray choices. You’ve probably already scrolled to the bottom and we don’t blame you. We’ll meet you there.
AT THE PHOTO CALL
This is her in Serious Actress mode. The outfit is overwrought and hard to parse. There’s too much going on and it’s all in black. Get rid of the train and the heavy black tights, button the jacket, and this would be downright conventional.
AT THE PREMIERE
We laughed and we think that was at least partially her intention. Which isn’t to suggest that she looks at this as clownery, but she’s very much aware of how she’s perceived and she’s more or less in on the joke. Put it this way: we’ll take silly attention-seeking like this over the dreary cheek-sucking fetish-tinged attention-seeking of Kim Kardashian. To be clear, we like the design. The jacket in particular is a fantastic piece. But the styling choices are what turn it into a spectacle.
