The Room Next Door stars Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton continue their femme/butch roleplaying on the red carpet at the TIFF premiere. We think their choices are letting them both down, we’re sorry to report.
First rule of wearing white for the super-pale folks: you need to make it purposeful. If your skin tone is close to the color of mayonnaise, you should only wear all-white if you can be dramatic or edgy or interesting about it. Neither of them manage it here. Julianne’s dress looks chintzy as hell and does nothing to flatter her. Tilda’s look would have worked if the pants and blouse matched and the latter wasn’t so wrinkled. It’s disappointing to see them both in such poorly thought-out looks.
