Andy Samberg, Kate Winslet and Andrea Riseborough were super-chummy on the red carpet at the screening of their film Lee.
They were not, however, all that well coordinated.
It’s giving holiday party sweater (derogatory). It’s possible to zhuzh up a top like this with some smart/fun choices, but those ski pants are not doing it at all.
We’ve always said that she has a real talent for choosing utterly unique pieces that seem designed specifically with her in mind. She embraces the odd and she’s very good at making it look amazing. This dress is odd and extremely well suited to her, but not even she can make it look good. The peach and metallic combination might work better on a wearer with darker skin, but it’s still going to come off like over-designed nightgown, no matter who’s got it on. Those trailing ribbons are awful.
Why Andy Samberg, you stylish prestige actor, you. This is all just a little too tone-on-tone for our tastes, but the colors suit him really well and we’re enjoying this refreshingly non-pretentious turn toward more serious styles. It’s giving Hot Professor, and that’s not a bad thing at all for him.
ABOUT THE MOVIE:
LEE, the directorial feature from award-winning Cinematographer Ellen Kuras, portrays a pivotal decade in the life of American war correspondent and photographer, Lee Miller (Kate Winslet). Miller’s singular talent and unbridled tenacity resulted in some of the 20th century’s most indelible images of war, including an iconic photo of Miller herself, posing defiantly in Hitler’s private bathtub.
Miller had a profound understanding and empathy for women and the voiceless victims of war. Her images display both the fragility and ferocity of the human experience. Above all, the film shows how Miller lived her life at full-throttle in pursuit of truth, for which she paid a huge personal price, forcing her to confront a traumatic and deeply buried secret from her childhood.
