IKEA unveils the second iteration of its social business collection, MÄVINN. This collection celebrates the local craftsmanship of 17 unique products, from five social businesses and artisans in Bangladesh (Classical Handmade Products), India (Ramesh Flowers, Rangsutra, SPUN), and Jordan (Jordan River Foundation).
This second iteration features baskets, rugs, bags, pillows, blankets, a robe, and a hanging flower holder made from locally sourced jute or cotton. Each piece is handwoven, braided, or embroidered to embody the unique skills and heritage of the local artisans and their culture. In the last 12 years since IKEA has worked with social businesses worldwide, it has generated work and training for 11,000 people and counting including women and marginalized groups to empower them to grow as skilled professionals and create a positive impact.
This collection will be available in-store and online in two stages starting in September 2024, with the second half of the collection becoming available in December 2024.
