Nicole Kidman attended a little SAG-AFTRA celebration of her recent series Expats wearing the kind of ensemble that would normally be likely to inspire fits of rage from your two manly, drama-seeking hosts: aggressive beige and too much knitwear in high summer.

While it’s entirely too autumnal in feel and weight for June in LA, we can’t claim she looks bad in it. In fact, she looks pretty fantastic in it. We tend not to love tricky skirt designs, but this one manages to give what could have been a total yawn of an outfit some interest and style. We’d never suggest any star wear head to toe beige knits for a promotional appearance, but this suits her well and the quality of the pieces is highly evident. It’s giving rich lady, which is where her style sweet spot lies (and why she plays so many rich ladies).
