If we’re being honest, we hate the design of the skirt. We also can’t shake the feeling that a sleeveless leather dress paired with big leather boots winds up looking very bottom heavy. And yet, she’s mostly making it work. She has a real knack for these Barbie-esque super-matchy “theme” looks. Granted, the hair and the smile is doing 90% of the work of selling this, but then again, that’s true of all good style. You use what you have to its best effect.
She doesn’t take it quite so far as to make it feel like she’s playing a different character a la Chloe Sevigny. She’s just really good at working these very curated, catalog-matchy looks that seem to reflect her mood that day. Before, she was the slightly edgy hot girl and here she’s the stylish working woman. Again: the hair is doing a lot to distract from that high waist or that minty turtleneck. It’s all working much better than it should, but that’s why she’s a model.
