We regret to inform you that, after a brief detour into the land of color, famously color-averse star Dakota Fanning has returned to form. The good news for everyone is that we don’t mind either of her choices for the last couple of days of Ripley press engagements. We’re sure she’s relieved to hear that.

It’s fine. Sure, it’s got a bit of a Wilma Flintstone vibe, but she clearly likes to keep things on the simple side. If it looks good, we don’t mind. It needs a higher hem and a footwear choice that delivers a little more impact.

Tying a jacket around her waist for a picture seems like a perfectly Dakota Fanning sort of thing to do. We wouldn’t recommend it for most stars, but it actually suits her and because the whole thing’s in black, it doesn’t look as awkward as it might. Honestly, we thought it was some sort of peplum at first glance.
