Congratulations to Rebecca Hall for having the perfect accessory to her outfit: her husband. Because we’ll tell you what: If she had hit this red carpet solo, we would’ve put this one up for an IN or OUT vote and if we know you kittens, you would have TRASHED it.

Granted, we could’ve skipped the pictures with Hot Beard in them, but why would we do that when he’s so pretty to look at? As for her look, it’s certainly… something. Given that she directed an awards-worthy film not all that long ago, it seems a bit strange to us that she’d show up at this event in something like this. Not that a director can’t wear a sheer dress if she wants to, but we don’t think this is the kind of look for anyone to be wearing to a prestige film award event. The NYFCC is one of the least showy events of the awards season. It’s possible she didn’t know how sheer this was going to be under certain lighting, but if that’s the case, it’s on her and her team for not checking that ahead of time. We can’t say we’d have fallen in love with this look if it had been fully lined, but at least we wouldn’t consider it a fuckup.
