Now we enter a narrower form of awards season as all of the major nominations are announced, where a specific few stars will be taking every chance to get their faces out there while the voting gets started. In other words, prepare to be sick of looking at Emma Stone by March. We’re pretty sure she’ll be just as sick of looking back at a wall of cameras several times a week. Anyway, here’s the Best Actress nominee taking a very businesslike approach to her latest victory lap.
It’s giving growth spurt. Since Thom Browne’s been screwing around with the proportions of the classic men’s suit for well over a decade now, we see no reason why a standard women’s pantsuit can’t get the same treatment. Here’s the thing, with this attempt: The jacket is long, which tends to make the pants look shrunken instead of just fitted and shorter than expected. We think you can do a capri suit, but not with too-long sleeves and shoulderpads. She needs a more fitted jacket to make this work. And we don’t think the sheer hose work with it at all.
